Texan, I suppose I’m supposed to convince you why you should listen to me or take me seriously, but I’m simply a Texan.

Happy National Day, Saudi Arabia. I have never been. I do not share the religion. I am a Texan who has watched an ally build, break, and build again from the mud of Diriyah to the horizon they keep walking toward. Phoenix of Diriyah is my congratulations. On your 96th national day and the 299 year of awesome! Grateful for the friendship. You have a place in my heart.

🚨 THIS COULD COMPLETELY RESET EMPLOYMENT-BASED IMMIGRATION. Sen. Tommy Tuberville has introduced the Americans First Immigration Act, which would replace the existing EB-1, EB-2 and EB-3 green card system with a points-based system. But this may be the biggest part: Under the legislative text, existing employment-based petitions still PENDING when the law takes effect could no longer be adjudicated or approved. Related green card applications would be: “rejected, denied, or invalidated.” Already-approved petitions get only a limited transition under the old system. And going forward, employers would have to: • Recruit American workers first • Hire an equally or better qualified American who applies • Document the recruitment process • Explain why U.S. applicants were rejected • Avoid layoffs in equivalent jobs beginning 90 days before filing • Meet significant wage thresholds This isn’t a tweak to employment-based immigration. It’s a proposed reset of the system. govinfo.gov/content/pkg/BILL…

For the people asking for the lyrics here they are “[Intro] Soft oud, distant drums, desert wind [Verse 1] In the green of Wadi Hanifa Mud walls rose against the sun Muhammad bin Saud took Diriyah Seventeen twenty-seven, the first one Then came the pact of forty-four Sword and scripture side by side From At-Turaif the banners opened Across the Najd, the east, the tide [Verse 2] Eighteen eighteen, the cannons answered Ibrahim broke the city down The first flame died in smoke and silence A capital turned to broken ground Turki lit a second fire In Riyadh in twenty-four It burned two lives, then tore from inside By ninety-one they walked from the door [Chorus] Rise, rise, phoenix of Diriyah From the ash of the old mud town Fall twice, walk home a third time Put a kingdom back on the ground From the wadi to the wide horizon From the ruin to the open sky Every ending learned the same word We are not done, we will not die [Verse 3] Nineteen-oh-two, a night in Riyadh Fifteen men on the Masmak wall Abdulaziz came out of exile And took the fort that held it all Thirty years of dust and banners Najd and Hijaz drawn into one September twenty-third, thirty-two The Kingdom named beneath the sun [Chorus] Rise, rise, phoenix of Diriyah From the ash of the old mud town Fall twice, walk home a third time Put a kingdom back on the ground From the wadi to the wide horizon From the ruin to the open sky Every ending learned the same word We are not done, we will not die [Verse 4] Oil woke under the sand in thirty-eight Roads and towers learned the name Kings kept building what he started A fortress town became a flame Glass now stands where watchtowers waited The Two Mosques hold the pilgrim sea The desert learned the sound of engines The map learned how to be a country [Bridge] Then sixteen came a different rising Not a raid, a written vow Thrive when oil grows quieter Open doors and keep the vow Women walking into daylight Cities growing from the past Diriyah breathing as a living city First capital coming home at last [Final Chorus] Rise, rise, phoenix of Diriyah From the ash of the old mud town Fall twice, walk home a third time Put a future back on the ground From the wadi to the wide horizon From the ruin to the open sky Three states, one name, one unfinished fire We are not done, we will not die [Outro] Mud to oil Oil to vision Vision back to the first wall We are not done We will not die”

I’m Japanese. In 2011, on the day the world watched in shock at the devastation in Japan, America did not look away. Despite the danger, around 24,500 U.S. service members, 24 ships, and 189 aircraft mobilized to help Japan. I will never forget Operation Tomodachi. That’s why, to me, America is more than a friend. America is family. If anything ever happens to you, this time I want to do everything I can to support you. If necessary, I’d even risk my life… Because that’s what family does. 🇯🇵🇺🇸

Fully agreed Mr secretary
Saudi National Day PRESS STATEMENT MARCO RUBIO, SECRETARY OF STATE SEPTEMBER 23, 2026 On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, and its people on the occasion of the 96th National Day, commemorating the unification of the Kingdom under the leadership of King Abdulaziz Al Saud.  On this proud day, we celebrate the generosity and the ambition of the Saudi people. Over the past year, the United States and Saudi Arabia have taken historic steps to deepen our strategic partnership.  President Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman finalized landmark agreements expanding Saudi investments in the United States, civil nuclear cooperation, and U.S.-Saudi defense cooperation — reflecting our shared commitment to regional security and stability. Today, we celebrate Saudi Arabia’s heritage and identity, and we look forward to a future of peace and prosperity for both of our nations. state.gov/releases/office-of…
