Bitcoin mining sites have 3x, even 4x in price as the demand for AI infrastructure keeps growing. My take: a lot of these “future AI sites” will inevitably end up mining Bitcoin again once the AI bubble starts to deflate. Funny how that works.

Had a pretty interesting scam attempt come my way this week, and this one was more thought out than most. The profile below had actually followed me a while back, so when he reached out inviting me onto what looked like a Web3 podcast, it didn’t immediately feel random. His X account went back years, had thousands of followers, the booking process looked real, and there were other profiles involved. The timing worked too. I wasnt near my computer when he first reached out, so the conversation sat for a bit and I didn’t look into things for us before we started talking about scheduling. Something still felt off, so I asked around. Turns out others in the Bitcoin and crypto space had seen the same setup. That’s where the scam gets interesting. They’re not asking for money upfront. They build out the podcast and interview first, then eventually create a technical issue where they try to get you to run or install something on your computer. Big thanks to Dan Koehler over at @asicplug_ for catching onto it early and sharing what he found with me. Pretty elaborate setup for what started as a normal podcast invite.

Over the last two weeks I’ve heard “so how’s that Bitcoin doing?” more than once lol. That’s the signal. We’re at the bottom or pretty damn close. Turn the DCA back on and start mining again. In a few months those same people will be asking about Bitcoin very differently.

It’s easy to get caught up in FOMO especially with crypto but please don’t get caught up in the whole Blipcoin thing lol. Stack sats, mine on cheap power and keep it simple.
