ACX sessions was wrapped up last week We concluded with two topics: • Airdrops and their types • Career opportunities in the Web3 space To wrap it up, participants took a comprehensive quiz covering everything taught throughout the cohort and the results were truly impressive. The growth was evident. It is the original Blockchain where real records are kept. 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝟏 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧: @Bitcoin, @ethereum, @solana, @BNBCHAIN Functions of Layer 1 blockchain: ✅Processes transactions ✅Maintains security ✅Stores data ✅Runs smart contracts (e.g., on Ethereum). 𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝟐 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 (𝐋𝟐): Layer 2 is a secondary network built on top of Layer 1 to help it work better. It is an add-on that makes the main blockchain faster and cheaper to use. 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝟐 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧: @arbitrum, @Optimism, @0xPolygon, @base, @avax. etc. 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝟐 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧: ✅Handles many transactions off the main blockchain ✅Sends a summary back to Layer 1 ✅This reduces the load on the busy main chain. 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐋𝟐 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝟏 Even though L2 handles transactions, it still uses the Layer 1 blockchain for security. How? L2 posts its final data or “proof” back to L1. L1 verifies and stores it permanently. If anything goes wrong on L2, L1 acts as the judge. So L2 gets speed and low fees without sacrificing security, because L1 secures it.
