Building OptionsAhoy. Free ISO, AMT, RSU, QSBS, and hedging calculators. No signup. Numbers stay in the browser.

Most of us with meaningful equity comp still piece together taxes, hedging, and diversification as separate problems. Spreadsheets, rules of thumb, and a lot of second-guessing. I built OptionsAhoy to do it properly: one optimizer that evaluates millions of combinations across multi-year horizons and three market scenarios (bullish, neutral, bearish). You set your actual goals: max after-tax value, minimize taxes, maximize cash, whatever mix matters to you, and it returns a clean month-by-month action plan. Still invite-only beta, but feedback so far has been strong. optionsahoy.com Curious what others are using for these kinds of decisions

Insteaf of a thousand words. A woman trapped under the rubble after a Russian strike is showing rescuers how old her daughter is. The little girl was killed by Russia.

Mr Musk, @elonmusk , I realize you're a busy person. But your company's name will now be used in relation to these horrific crimes that could have been prevented using Starlink. You said Starlink couldn't be used in offensive military action. But protecting supermarkets, the children, women and men there isn't offensive military action. Why don't you spend a minute of your time to enable Starlink for Ukraine's anti drone operations? What could possibly stop you from saving a few lives?
Russian forces carried out a drone strike on a Ukrainian supermarket in Odessa this morning. A Geran-4 slammed into a busy Tavria V supermarket in Mayaky, injuring multiple people and setting the building ablaze.

The work behind those scores: a deny-by-default security policy where the browser loads only what we explicitly approve, and no headers that report your browsing to anyone. Any regression fails our build.

The math runs in your browser. Typing a scenario transmits nothing; picking a ticker sends only the ticker symbol. Your inputs live after the # in the URL, which browsers never send to any server.

NEW: ChatGPT and Claude can now quote you insurance on your stock: from real option-chain prices. Refreshed daily, free, no signup. Ask what protecting $400k of NVDA costs. This week: ~$39k/yr. Or $0, if you cap your upside.

AI has given everyone the power to optimize their RSUs, compensation options and stocks. The way rich folks with Deloitte accountants do. You just need correct federal and state tax math. Current price and volatility data. A valid optimization method. And a way to catch the bugs, false assumptions, and bad data. You're all set if you have all that. For everyone else: My calculators are free. Tested to the cent against IRS publications and two open-source tax engines. The site has a verification page showing the math next to its sources, live, plus around 1,900 test cases behind the scenes. No account, no email. I don't need your data. The math should be available to everyone who earned the equity. Democratize Deloitte.
AlphaLatitude builds OptionsAhoy: equity compensation optimization. The problem: if you work at a public tech company, a large share of your net worth arrived as RSUs or compensation options. The decisions attached to them are real math. When to sell, hedge or exercise. What AMT does to an ISO exercise. What a protective put costs. Whether QSBS applies. Most people get this advice one of two ways. A CPA for hundreds of $ an hour, or a forum thread of uneven quality. We built a third option: free calculators for the individual pieces, and an optimizer in invite-only beta for the whole problem at once. What this page will cover: equity comp mechanics, tax interactions, and the occasional platform analysis. No hype. Every claim checkable. Calculators: optionsahoy.com/tools

Every tech office I've been in had an espresso machine. We still walked to the coffee shop. But the barista uses a machine too, so why do we want THAT coffee? AI is the same story. AI end to end? Yes. Yet we just want humans to be involved, and we'll pay extra for that

Same reason chess got bigger after engines passed us. Stockfish is free and better than Magnus. People pay to watch Magnus.

This will never get old.
Steve Jobs literally predicted the iPhone, the Internet, AI and the next 50 years of technology in a single speech from 1983.

An AI just closed an Erdős problem. Everyone read that as the machine catching up to Erdős. Is it really? David Turturean used GPT-5.5-Pro to solve Erdős #870. The proof held across 180,000 lines of formal verification, a scale no human had formalized before. Here is the thing: Erdős posed it. A human looked at an effectively unbounded space of things one could ask and picked out the question worth a century of attention. A human still drove the solving, and the hardest part, verifying the proof, was his too. The model was a tool inside that. Solving is downstream of conjecturing. The search got smart. The taste to know what's worth searching for did not. The day a model poses a conjecture with Erdős's elegance, something genuinely new will have happened. We're not there. Yet P.S. For math buffs: #870 is about sets of numbers you can add a few of together to build any large number. It asks whether having many ways to build each number means every element is essential. It turns out: one can always be removed.

1/ The most expensive default setting I know of is not in Kubernetes. It is in your brokerage account. You need $260K net for a house. You hold 3,200 NVDA across five vests. Watch what the default does.

6/ Gotchas: - lot selection happens at order time, not in April - the long/short-term clock runs per lot, not per grant - the 3.8% NIIT starts at $250K modified adjusted gross income (married), and the sale itself trips it

7/ I got nerd-sniped and built a free calculator that does this per lot, including the fund-a-goal case: optionsahoy.com/tools/equity… The closes above are real. Verify them, then go fix your cost basis setting.
