Europe: UEFA risks letting football 'rubber-stamp apartheid' by allowing Israel to play, Amnesty warns It’s unconscionable that the Israel men’s football team will participate in the UEFA Nations League this autumn despite clear evidence that Israel’s football association continues to support illegal settlements. Instead of sending a clear message that there is a cost for Israel’s unlawful occupation of the Occupied Palestinian Territory and its atrocity crimes against Palestinians, UEFA is giving Israel an international stage as it maintains its brutal occupation of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, its system of apartheid over all Palestinians, and its ongoing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. amnesty.org.uk/latest/europe…

PSNI multi-shot Taser poses ‘significant new risks’ says Amnesty International - @irish_news The weapon, which can be discharged up to 45ft (13.7m), has “significantly longer barbed spikes, fired with more force, designed to penetrate heavy clothing”. The PSNI has said it does not intend to carry out an equality impact assessment on a new T10 Taser.

Concerns at plans to roll out new Tasers to more NI police With more and longer barbed spikes fired at a higher velocity designed to penetrate heavy clothing, the risk of devastating, unintended injuries – especially to the face or eyes – is deeply worrying. The police have a duty to protect the public and themselves from harm, but coroners have pointed to Taser use as a key factor in the deaths of several people across the UK. With the planned expansion in use of this new Taser 10, the @NIPolicingBoard should, at a minimum, ensure that the PSNI ends the use of this electro-shock weapon against children, in compliance with the UN Child Rights Committee’s repeated recommendations. It should also conduct a new rigorous equality assessment given the additional risks posed by the T10 and serious concerns about significant racial disproportionality in PSNI Taser use. @BelTel: belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…

Black people almost 4 times more likely to be searched by PSNI despite 9 in 10 facing no arrest - @irish_news Black and racialised people in Northern Ireland tell Amnesty International that they feel over-policed -- yet under-protected when they themselves are victims of racist hate crime. With race hate crime increasing every year, racialised people in Northern Ireland need the police protecting them, not treating them as suspect communities. irishnews.com/news/northern-…

This landmark report, finding ‘systemic failures’ by the state and a series of ‘serious human rights issues’, is a culmination of many years campaigning by and a tribute to the survivors - women and children - of this inhumane system. 👏 Now for the public inquiry. ⚖️

*Content warning: contains graphic scenes* Amnesty International has released a major report concluding the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) committed crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing during its campaign to seize El Fasher in North Darfur state in Sudan. The report - City Under Siege, Children Under Fire: Rapid Support Forces' Crimes Against Humanity in North Darfur - documents how civilians in and around El Fasher were killed, injured, beaten, tortured and detained between early 2024 and October 2025 as the RSF fought the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and allied Joint Forces in a war that devastated North Darfur. We demand an immediate ceasefire in Sudan - and for the urgent deployment of an international force to protect civilians. The UK gov must end all arms transfers to parties of the conflict, including to the UAE.
