Happy Día de los Padres. I've been thinking about my father today more than usual. I wrote this essay during COVID for PsychologyToday. It’s about stubborn old #Cuban fathers, determined daughter “fixers,” and why we must leave room for hope, no matter how bleak things look.
Speaking of which, I hope you take a look and enjoy the read.
Happy #FathersDayWeekend to good papis everywhere.

Happy Tuesday!
Wanted to share my interview with The Human Experience podcast., which went live today. Jennifer Peterkin is onto something. She interviews people . . . In Person. I loved our conversation about our family’s journey, how we lost our Cuban lives to political upheaval but found the best of America and ourselves in a snowed in #NewHampshire town. I cover all of that in my memoir, “Property Of The Revolution,” link below.
I hope you have a listen and that it inspires you and makes your day better.
Volume is low at first but is quickly corrected.

“We are not a theme park. Go somewhere else for ideological tourism. Here, we are suffering.” Independent Cuban Journalist Yoani Sánchez’s response to “Our America’s” pro-regime brigade to Cuba.
¡Vamos #Cuba!
¡VIVA CUBA LIBRE! 🇨🇺
