Fire Incident at HPCL Visakhapatnam Refinery A fire incident was reported at the pitch intermediate storage tank at Visakh Refinery of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), at around 10 PM on November 2, 2026. Fire & Safety Team of Visakh Refinery promptly activated the firefighting and emergency response measures. The fire was localized to pitch tank area and was brought under control within a short time. There has been no casualties. All the Units of the Refinery are working safely. Cyclone Murasu: AP CM Naidu Seeks Support from Tamil Nadu & Karnataka Ahead of Cyclone Murasu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has sought support from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to strengthen preparedness and ensure a swift response. With potential damage to electricity infrastructure a major concern, the state is mobilising additional manpower, technical teams and machinery to ensure rapid power restoration in the event of disruptions.

Guntur-based Nanda Global Solar has proposed a massive ₹2,500 crore integrated solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing project in Macherla, Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh. The project includes a 5 GW solar cell manufacturing line and a 600 MW solar module manufacturing line.
