Yes, it warms the otherwise stark matchbox that is modern construction materials. I also love the cement floors. In the living room which is also vaulted but without the tongue and groove, I used a wood beam, a full height real brick wall behind the wood stove and a knotty elder built-in full wall book shelf for the warmth that was lost by the stark white ceiling. I still wish I would have gone with the tongue and groove there too...
