If Macklemore really wants to show solidarity with Palestinians he should perform at this 22,000 capacity venue in the Palestinian city Rawabi, in the West Bank, which Iโve visited twice (this is my photo). Itโs the biggest open air venue of its sort in the Middle East and hosts international acts. And since heโs such a big advocate for gay people he should definitely sing โSame Loveโ. He could even replicate his 2014 Grammyโs performance when a bunch of same sex couples got married.
Macklemore has announced the "Free Palestine" tour after he was dropped from Ed Sheeran's U.S. concerts for making speeches supporting Palestine.
The tour includes three shows set for Dublin (Oct. 26), Paris (Oct. 29) and London (Oct. 30). All ticket sales and proceeds from the concerts will benefit organizations supporting Palestine.
"If these last couple of weeks have shown us anything, itโs that something has shifted over the last three years,. There has been a collective awakening around Palestinian liberation, the power of billionaires that try to censor that call, and what we expect from artists right now," says Macklemore.
"Itโs 2026. Being apolitical during a genocide doesnโt work anymore. People are asking artists to show up, educate themselves and be in community. To use the stage for more than entertainment.
