My chief of staff Kris recently joined members of the Texas House Insurance Committee for a visit to the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety Research Center in Chester County, South Carolina. They got a firsthand look at the research and testing being done on commercial and residential construction materials — evaluating how different materials and methods hold up under high winds, wildfires, and other extreme conditions. I’m grateful Kris was able to attend and bring back valuable insight that will help us serve Texas families better in the 90th Legislative Session.

I had the privilege of speaking at the Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon. It was a great opportunity to talk about what the 90th Legislative Session may hold and some of the bills my office is working on.
