What is wrong with our Governor General? Why would she not call a general election? What is she waiting for?

At what point would Australians actually vote for a government that spends less than it earns? This would mean we vote not to take the carrots we are offered to buy our vote every electoral cycle. We have too much debt for this to continue. Our country would need to produce and sell more to other countries at a profit than our government spends. This additional profit is taxed and provides revenue. Then we can stop borrowing. Of course we also need a government that will be honest with us and stop spending any more than it needs. It’s just like running a household really. If you spend too much, you can’t pay your debts to the bank and you lose everything. All you end up with is feeling beaten by the system. When should we expect more from them and stop being the horses taking the carrots? When the debt is hard but manageable or when we have fun out of choices and are broke?

@DHughesy I don’t know if you’re aware of Demi Anderson @demi_anderson0 A great corruption example. Lives in Melbourne. Both the local and state governments joined forces to prevent her (approved and started!) house reno’s change the laws and send her broke. No fence, a break in, husband seriously stabbed and it still goes on. It’s just nuts!

It’s the least I can do. You are not alone. There are others in Stonnington. It’s probably across many councils. Maybe it would help to join together.
