One of the hardest things about indie comics is that even a great book doesn’t always get the chance to reach the audience it deserves. There’s so much work, passion, and collaboration that goes into bringing a comic to life, and it’s never easy to see a project like that come to an end.
It’s sad to see such a beautiful book get canceled, but I completely understand the decision. Sometimes, even when a team puts out a great product and does what they can to get it noticed, things just don’t work out. That doesn’t take away from what they accomplished or the effort that went into making the book.
I might feel differently if the team had put out a subpar book or failed to do their due diligence when it came to marketing, but that’s simply not the case here. From the outside looking in, it’s clear that the team put their best foot forward and gave this book a genuine shot.
Huge kudos to
@arvidthetwit and the entire team for what they created. It’s always disappointing to see a good comic come to an end, but I have a lot of respect for the people who put their work out there and give readers something worth experiencing. Not every book gets the outcome it deserves, but that doesn’t mean the effort or the work itself was a failure.
And who knows, maybe one day "The Band of the Crow" will transform into something different.
This is hard. This sucks. As a comic book, The Band of the Crow is coming to an end. We really wanted to share Book Two with you. And Three. And Four. It just wasn’t meant to be. (🪡1/7)
