Today, a government delegation from Slovenia is in Kyiv, together with representatives of their leading companies. I met with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs @TKajzer and Minister of Defense Valentin Hajdinjak. Our countries are working on the Drone Deal, and we discussed the first results and joint defense projects that we can implement.
We talked at length about Ukraine’s future as part of a united Europe, security in our region, and Russia’s constant attacks. I thanked Slovenia for its $50 million contribution to PURL and for all its support. We are deeply grateful for this respect shown to all our people and to our warriors who gave their lives defending Ukraine and all of Europe. Today, together, we honored their memory with a moment of silence…

@EP_President Metsola welcomed Slovenian Prime Minister @JJansaSDS for a high-level meeting at the European Parliament.
The visit included the official arrival, handshake in front of the European and Slovenian flags, Janša signing the Parliament’s Golden Book and the start of bilateral discussions.
The meeting places Slovenia back in the spotlight of European politics as the EU confronts major debates over security, competitiveness, enlargement, the next European budget and the Union’s geopolitical direction.
For Janša, the visit is also a highly symbolic return to the European Parliament at a moment when Slovenia’s voice could become increasingly important in shaping Europe’s next political choices.

A new geopolitical reality calls for a new approach to the next long-term EU budget, with a new structure and a new way of allocating our resources.
Our timeline is clear - agree in 2026, legislate and prepare in 2027, deliver the funding in 2028.
I commend and thank Slovenia for its steadfast support for enlargement. There is real momentum in this process. Reforms by candidates are paying off and must continue.

Minister @TKajzer will open the 21st @BledStratForum with an address. Held under the title “The Power to Shape the Future,” this year’s forum will put at the forefront one of the fundamental questions of our time: Whether Europe will be capable of actively shaping its own future?
Over the course of two days, Bled will become an important meeting point for political leaders, representatives of international organisations, the business community, academia and civil society. On the margins of the forum, the Minister will hold numerous bilateral meetings and talks with foreign ministers and participate in a panel discussion on the role of Central and South-Eastern Europe.
State Secretaries at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Dr Stanislav Raščan and @PozarTamara, will also take part in panel discussions. They will use their participation in the Bled forum to hold bilateral meetings with their counterparts.
