Casting is everything. A new host is a new show. Unlimited upside on taking smart personality bets.
excited to share this news officially. @being_on_line is joining @MTSlive team as our newest host i've long been a fan of ruby (as a top tier guest on the show, and whilst spending time in nyc) the mts experience currently spans across agi discourse and industry news. with ruby on the team, we are building up coverage on internet culture this is an increasingly important corner to own given how ai is rapidly reshaping thoughts online and proliferating. we are excited to chronicle the singularity with media studies

Success is always hard work but people are also built for some things and not for others, both mentally and physically. Don’t listen to anyone else who tells you you can’t do something but do listen to yourself about where your energy and talents lie. Willpower & winning come easier when you point in the right direction.
Andreas Almgren 🇸🇪 makes a stunning marathon debut, winning the New York City Marathon in 2:06:01! The Swede pulled away from Yemaneberhan Crippa 🇮🇹 over the final mile to seal the victory, with the Italian finishing 2nd in 2:06:14.

Will Smith eating spaghetti was just 2-3 years ago, and for many people it was their first exposure to AI video. But if you look back a few more years, to around 2019, the progress looks even more impressive, and Will Smith eating spaghetti starts to look like high definition. This is The Orange, our first short film made with Runway, back in 2019 by @matamalaortiz

it’s earnestly fascinating that we feel compelled to build the very things we fear the consequences of
We're about to enter a period where not reading or writing becomes as ubiquitous as smoking once was. We can hope people will eventually realize this is bad for them, as they did with smoking. But this is far from certain; the cost may not be as obvious.

A year ago, I joined the first @a16z New Media Fellowship as a fellow. Now I get to help run the third one (!) and we just opened up applications. This is a unique opportunity to meet, spend time with, and learn from some of the greatest poasters on the Everything App (maybe the real NMF was the friends we made along the way).

This is just a classic case of founders pushing their own products for use cases where the old human version works just fine. Many such cases. These aren’t examples of bad parenting or dystopian AI futures so much as bad founder comms judgment.

There's this quote by Jorge Macchi that says "over the course of their lifetimes, all artists create a work of art that is nothing more than an obsessive self-portrait"
all art is a selfie
