The center judge, who had the best view of the play, thought this was a fumble based upon his reaction and chasing Phares down the field.
An egregious call by the line judge to call down by forward progress. Hard to not feel like App State got shafted by the refs last night.

Overall, an accurate scouting report. The OL advantage from NC State was massive. NC state could have ran away with this game but abandoned the run for some reason.
A point of improvement for me: I will include refs on future reports to always favor the home team.

I’m not one to blame refs a lot. But when you have a clear fumble reversed on the first drive and a clear offsides on a FG attempt not called on the last drive, you start to feel a bit conflicted. In a game decided by 10 points, those two massive blown calls weigh large.
