The crime against history most don’t know about… ISIS destroyed Assyrian archeology. They burnt Aramaic manuscripts. They blew up Old Testament history including the Tomb of Jonah. They erased ancient Churches, driving Assyrians out of Nineveh. How much was lost?

They want to eradicate Christianity in the Middle East. The Assyro-Chaldeans have been practically erased from Iraq. I still believe we can reverse course but not without a miracle. A miracle of both the Christian world & the Assyrian diaspora waking up to this erasure.

The Maronite Catholics are being driven out of their ancestral Lebanon at an extreme rate. They are trapped between the IDF & Hezbollah, fuelling an intense emigration crisis. The Christian world cannot allow Maronites to become the sacrificial lamb for Israel & Iran.

Once upon a time, the Maronites spoke Aramaic. Today, 99% speak Arabic. A bitter warning for Assyrians whose Aramaic tongue will also slowly go extinct. Despite Arabization, some Maronite liturgies still incorporate Aramaic. Every Maronite should work for Syriac revival.

Iraq🇮🇶 ࿇ This photo depicts two Assyrian priests standing at the gate of Rabban Hormizd monastery in Alqosh, Assyria (1880's or 1890's). The monastery of Rabban Hormizd was too exposed to attack to remain a functioning monastery, and was also a symbol of a turbulent time. Patriarch Joseph Audo decided to replace it, and in 1859, with financial assistance from the Vatican, built a new Monastery of Our Lady of the Seeds in a safer plain site near Alqosh about one mile from the ancient monastery. The new monastery quickly replaced Rabban Hormizd as the principal monastery of the Chaldean Church, and most of the monks moved to the new location.

The ancient Syriac monasteries of Southern Turkey are truly something else. Many are so old they're built on top of pre-Christian Assyrian ruins. With most Christians gone, these sites are endangered & at risk of confiscation. Organizations like UNESCO largely ignore them.

This is how "Western Allies" steal Christian history. They're calling an Armenian monastery "Caucasian Albanian", linking it to "ancestral Azerbaijanis". After kicking ancestral Christians out. If Christendom & Christian powers were strong, this would not be tolerated AT ALL.

This Aramaic hymn gives me chills every time I hear it. "Tell me O Church, where shall I build you?" It makes me think of The Church of The East missionaries that history has forgotten. The men who took the Church as far as China & Japan with no backers. There are even Church of The East heritage sites in places like Kharg Island & across the Persian Gulf. Up until the 13th century when the Mongols began converting to Islam, The Church of The East was the largest missionary force in the world. With no state backing (and in spite of persecutions), this Apostolic Church converted the many nations inside Persia, Central Asia, India & East Asia. This hymn inspires us to think about what is possible today. How can we leverage technology to bring our Apostolic faith to the world? While teetering on extinction due to the exodus of its people from its Mesopotamian heartland, can The Church of The East be reborn anew? I am sorry to post something so graphic. I simply want the world to remember this massacre during the Iraq War. October 31, 2010. Islamist terrorists attacked an Assyro-Chaldean Church during a service in Baghdad. They took hostages. They would soon killed the hostages & blew themselves up. I just want you ponder the reality of the Iraq War & what it did to ancestral Christians. Assyrians are an Old Testament nation that has been in their homeland of Mesopotamia ("Bet Nahrain") for thousands of years. They've been Aramaic-speaking Christians for 2000 years. They contributed to Christianity not just as early Christians, but as the largest non-state missionary operation that took the faith as far as China & Japan. The Iraq war forced a collapse in their population from 1.5 million to less than 200,000 today. One of COUNTLESS massacres that happened during the Iraq War which drove an emigration crisis. Priests & bishops were kidnapped. Nuns were beheaded. Regularly. I am not talking about once or twice. This was a common event from 2002-2011--with a brief pause before the rise of ISIS in Nineveh in 2014. Why does nobody talk about these people? Why are there no international efforts to restore this population to its homeland? To rebuild their churches, to restore the property that they left behind, now occupied by squatters? They care about every genocide except Christian genocide.

Western left-wingers watch this and think, “they would fit in great here! Bring’em in!”

I started this page out of frustration. Frustration the world does not know what is happening to ancient Christians. Frustration the media doesn't cover Christian genocide. In six short months, Aramaic Wire has now crossed 25,000 followers. We hear about EVERY genocide except the genocide of Christians. When the media decides to cover it, they use Christians as pawns for somebody else's narrative. We've had millions of impressions with several posts hitting the explore page with no help from anyone. There's something massive going on. I believe we are in the early stages of an awakening. An Apostolic Awakening There is deep interest brewing in the origins of the faith. With this comes a thirst for Middle Eastern Christianity. A curiosity for the nations of Christ, for the language of Christ, for the lands & histories of ancient Christians. It is a rejection of commercial Christianity which undermined Apostolic lineage. Which taught us to forget Eastern Christians. Which treated the Christians in Iraq as a non-entity when the Iraq War began. Which treated the Christians in Syria as a non-entity as the Syrian Civil War destroyed their historic presence. Which views the Christians in Lebanon & Palestine as collateral in the wars between Islam & Judaism. Despite an early awakening, there is a crisis in Christianity we have to start talking about. It is a crisis of consciousness. Why do Christians have to choose between allying themselves with Muslims or Jews? Why can't Christians build their own ground-up policy, worldview & organizational structures, with independent goals designed to propagate a Christian polity & worldview? How did Christendom become so degraded that it no longer fights for its heritage in the East? It's worse. How did Christendom become so degraded that it allows OTHER religions to use Eastern Christians as tokens for their own interests? Eastern Christians are the pressure valve for all of this. I started this page because I've lived my entire life with the stories of our martyrs. I heard about nuns being beheaded during the Iraq War. I saw mass emigration of Christians in Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Lebanon & Iran. I watched (and am watching) Aramaic, my native tongue, go extinct. I'm watching my people, the Assyrians/Assyro-Chaldeans, dissolve into diaspora nothingness, despite a grand history. I watch as they divide themselves into factions, with no plan or leadership, totally confused about their future. Our faith is renewed by proximity to martyrdom. We need the Eastern martyrs to strengthen our zeal. The protection of Christianity in the East is both a symptom of & a catalyst for the revival of Christianity in the West. When I post about Sister Cecilia, the beheaded nun in Baghdad, or the Murdered Priests of Mosul, or the Christians of Nineveh decimated by ISIS, I am telling stories I've known all my life. Stories the media will never cover, unless they are trying to promote another cause (again, Christians as pawns). This has to be reversed--totally & without compromise. Eastern Christians have been the biggest losers in the last 50 years of Middle Eastern conflict. They've faced the largest % demographic losses, the highest rates of emigration & the greatest level of cultural & heritage destruction. And it all happened before our eyes. But I also believe the apathy which allowed Christian Genocide to happen will eventually be defeated. The forces of history are being reshaped. There is massive interest in Eastern Christians, and Aramaic Wire's growth is a tiny example of this. There's interest in Aramaic. A desire to support the East. And we have to find unique & innovative ways to bridge these worlds. Aramaic Wire will continue to highlight the beauty of the Apostolic East. We will make a simple yet important case: the revival of Christianity in the West requires an energizing cause in the East, a cause that connects us to the prayers & people of the Apostles. This Assyrian Bishop lost his eye on a livestream. For the first time since he was stabbed during mass, Bishop Mar Mari has talked about the terrorist attack. "The knife went through the right eye." Assyrians were driven out of the East & have now been targeted in multiple high-profile attacks in the West because of the zeal of their Christianity. "I pray the whole world comes back to Jesus Christ because there is only one God & his name is JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH." There were over 1.5 million Assyrians in Iraq alone & there are now less than 200,000 in the country driven by the Iraq War & the rise of ISIS.
