Jamie Vardy says that during his mad scoring run for Leicester, Claudio Ranieri never stopped treating him like one of the lads.
A few days after Vardy had scored in his 11th consecutive game, Ranieri called him over at the training ground and handed him a signed Leicester shirt, the sort of thing you'd expect as a milestone gift. Vardy turned it round to check the back, hoping for something special.
It read: “9. W***er.”
Vardy said he just stood there laughing, because it was the last thing he expected from Ranieri. Brilliant man-management, that.
