Things that are worse than genocide according to the British media: A bunch of lads nicking diesel A few retired ambulances burning A band chanting "death to the IDF" Ed Sheeran crying Saying "Zionism is racism" Note how none of these resulted in a single person getting hurt.

NOBODY is connecting the dots on these Gen Z protests. India. France. Spain. Chile. Different signs. Same problem. Young people can't get hired. Can't afford rent. Can't afford a house. Can't see a future. At the same time, AI is quietly deleting the jobs they were supposed to start with. Entry-level hiring has COLLAPSED since 2024. You can't tell a generation to "work hard" when the first rung of the ladder is gone. The streets are the only place left. Follow + 🔔. This is going global.

There is a sentence that almost never appears in Western coverage: Under international law, a people under military occupation have the right to resist that occupation. This is not a controversial claim. It is in the United Nations Charter. It is in the Geneva Conventions. It has been affirmed repeatedly by the UN General Assembly, explicitly referring to "all available means, including armed struggle." It is the same principle invoked to describe French resistance to Nazi occupation as heroic rather than terrorist. It is so uncontroversial that it doesn't need to be stated when applied to almost any other occupied people in history. When applied to Palestinians, it disappears. Not because it became false. Because the people who control which sentences appear in the news made a decision about which populations are permitted to have legally recognized rights that are spoken aloud in prime time. That decision is political. The silence around it is also political. The pretense that both are journalistic is the lie inside the lie.

They came back from Vietnam and made movies about it. Apocalypse Now. Full Metal Jacket. Platoon. The Deer Hunter. Born on the Fourth of July. Beautiful films. Serious films. Films about the trauma of American soldiers, the moral complexity of American soldiers, the broken psyches of American soldiers. How many major American films center the experience of the Vietnamese? How many Hollywood productions have you seen where the Vietnamese are the protagonists, the full human beings with names and families and inner lives, and the Americans are the faceless army descending from the sky? Think about that structure. Think about what it means when a country kills three million of your people, loses the war, goes home, and then spends the next fifty years producing prestige cinema about how hard the killing was for the killers. Vietnamese suffering as backdrop. American suffering as subject. Vietnamese bodies as set dressing. American guilt as narrative arc. They could not conquer Vietnam militarily. But they tried to conquer the story. They tried to make the war, in global cultural memory, fundamentally about them. Their boys. Their trauma. Their national reckoning. We are not your reckoning. We are not your backdrop. We won. We exist. We have our own story, and in our story, we are the ones who were here before you came and here after you left.

#BREAKING | Thousands of protesters in Madrid are marching to Spain's Congress after the news broke that 87-year-old Maricarmen Abascal passed away in the hospital. For the past six years, Maricarmen had been resisting attempts to evict her from her home where she lived for over 70 years. She had become a symbol of the struggle for housing in Spain, after she was forcibly removed from her apartment on September 23. Her violent eviction only intensified protests and organizers also set up an encampment at 'Sol', in Madrid's city center, to push for demands like a ban on eviction of vulnerable tenants where alternative housing is not available; a limit to short-term and room rentals; a rent freeze; and an extension for contracts ending in 2026 and 2027. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez had attempted to push through some modest housing reforms in parliament but both were defeated by the right. Now, Spain will head to snap elections in November.

I was just released from the custody of the Greek police in Athens. They took me and another journalist into custody for several hours because we showed up to cover a pro-Palestinian protest that never happened. It never happened because of the government's lockdown for Rubio.
