If you have followed me for a while, you'll know that I love creating fantasy forest art. For the past few months, I have found my home in a forest world full of magic, mystery, and healing.
I have always been drawn to the deep peace and wonder that forests inspire. John Muir said, “The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” To me, trees and forests carry an ancient wisdom and a sense of home. They are sanctuaries for creatures and nature, and if one were to encounter a spirit or mystical being, I feel like it would happen in a forest.
Perhaps that is why I keep returning to the forest in my art. It feels like a place where the ordinary and the magical can exist together. A place where you can lose yourself, but perhaps also find a part of yourself you had forgotten.
My time in this realm has been magical, and from it has emerged a body of work that I love. Lately, though, I have found myself drawn towards different worlds. I want to follow that creative instinct and see where it leads.
I believe creativity is an ever-changing journey. While I will undoubtedly retreat to the forest again in the future, for now, I'm excited to step beyond its borders and begin exploring a new world. 🪐
