I joined our PLU first lady Mrs. Charlotte Kainerugaba this morning at the launch of the National Blood Donation Drive and Awareness Campaign, aimed at raising awareness about excessive bleeding after childbirth and the importance of blood donation in saving mothers’ lives. I was joined by our PLU General Secretary, @TwallaFadil , and more than 500 PLU supporters, who generously donated blood this morning. We sincerely thank everyone who came forward to support this noble and life-saving cause. The Bible reminds us: 1 John 3:16 “We know what love is because Christ laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for others.” Acts 20:35 “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Donating blood is an act of love, compassion and sacrifice. Your donation can save a mother, a child, an accident victim, or another patient in critical need. Special thanks to our Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Mobiliser in Kamuli District, Jamiru Watoga and security team led by Dpc Kamuli for helping uncover the alleged theft of medicines from the Kamuli Mulago main hospital stores . A full troop carrier was loaded with drugs recovered from a private residence in Kamuli Municipality. The suspects will today be handed over to the State House Health Monitoring Unit and CID Headquarters for case management and in-depth investigations. This kind of theft contributes to medicine shortages, especially in our remote health centres. It must stop. Anyone found stealing medicines meant for Ugandans will be dealt with in accordance with the law. Public medicines are for the people, not personal gain.

@NRMOnline Secretary General Rt. Hon. @TodwongR , who is Otema’s younger brother, also commended the retired general for serving the country as an exemplary soldier for more than four decades. Todwong expressed gratitude to Otema for his service and requested him to continue serving the people of Acholi in different capacities despite his retirement from the army. He said Otema’s experience, discipline and leadership remained valuable to the region and the country, urging him to use the next chapter of his life to continue contributing to the development of Acholi.

Before heading to the PLU Baraza at Molo Primary School Playground in Magodesi, the General Secretary of PLU, Hon. @HonTwallafadil, accompanied by Hon. @shyamtanna_, @rutashararaS, and the Tororo District LC5 Chairman, participated in the nationwide general cleaning exercise in honor of the directive. The team cleaned the ghettos of Tororo Municipality, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy community.
