According to a statement released by the conference, the meeting was meant "to discuss recent matters involving conference expectations and responsibilities."

There’s absolutely zero evidence Kiffin orchestrated this.
And yet, the SEC is still concerned over a lack of institutional control at LSU.
The fact that Kiffin orchestrated this prior to the season by tampering with players on pro rosters -- and that the administrators at LSU knowingly enabled him -- matters now.
This will effectively demonstrate the SEC's position as a *league* acting independently of the NCAA's authority for the first time. Which a break from the NCAA by the SEC and B1G has been predicted for quite some time.

This ruling from the court is a slap in the face of every college athlete, coach, and fan who has abided by the spirit and letter of league rules for many decades. I will stand with the SEC and the Oklahoma Sooners to ensure that fairness is afforded to all throughout the upcoming season. We have rules for a reason, and we all must uphold those rules - or invite anarchy to infect our ranks.
