It’s been great seeing how decisive and incisive execution has been under @photomatt’s leadership as CEO of @automattic.
Matt gets a lot of shit for all the wrong reasons. If open source contributors were rewarded with even 20% of the value that closed source gets, Automattic would be a $1-2 trillion dollar company today.
I believe that we will actually see many open source companies valued in the trillions.
All the open weights Chinese labs are heading in that direction … very clearly.
There will be many.
In the US we have @liquidai, @nvidia and a few who “want” to be the leading open weights American labs like @thinkymachines and of course @Meta …
