The reaction to the merger by the trades and Hollywood tells you all you need to know about why everything fell apart. The people used to matter because box office mattered, ratings mattered. But once they no longer did Hollywood walled itself off and cut off its audience. Why? Because half of them voted for Trump and they treat people who voted for Trump like human garbage. You can't be in service of yourselves and expect people to care much. Streaming was always the solution. Netflix the perfect cure for Hollywood's utopia/dystopia. Box office would never matter so the people would never matter. It might have all gone that way, theaters vanishing, but in the merger we at least have a fight. We have something to shake up the monopoly. I am shocked no one sees that or writes about it. It would not have gone through if people who live in the real world did not see it as a good thing. The "resistance" isn't over but it didn't kill Hollywood. Hollywood lives to see another day thanks to a "billionaire."

This is a wildly ignorant statement but it does prove what I've been saying for years now. Hollywood has been beholden to one political party, the Democrats, where it became pure propaganda and nearly destroyed its business. This is the biggest chance for some ideological diversity.
America is free only when the media is competitive, independent, and accountable to the people. This merger strikes a chilling blow against that freedom — and hands even more power to billionaires like David Ellison to decide what Americans see and hear, all while lifting scrutiny off the federal leaders who pushed it through. I am grateful to Attorney General Tish James for the protections she secured for workers. This decision is a shameful monument to corruption and a betrayal that the American people won't soon forget. apnews.com/article/warner-br…

Sorry, Julie, but Ryan is not the innocent party here. I said not one word about him to Scott or Jeremy. Nothing. They came to work with me because they're good guys. You can ask them, @JulieF75 They noticed Ryan's year-long obsession with demonizing me on this app, along with everyone else. I never said a cross word about Ryan to either of them or on the site. This has gone only one way. All we've been trying to do is write and record podcasts. That's it. That's the truth.

Bi-partisan? Are you high? This breaks up an ideological monopoly by the Democratic Party for at least ten years but maybe longer, leading to nothing less than the collapse of a once-thriving film industry.
There is effectively no antitrust enforcement left in the US government, overturning 135 years of bipartisan policy. Blame Bonta all you want, but this death-knell merger could only have been stopped by the feds. Billionaires - and their foreign friends - now own America.

It had to be pried from your hands because you all believe that our culture belongs only to you. Box office doesn't matter, ratings doesn't matter because the people no longer matter and haven't for a long time. This is so sad to see.

I think it gets in because I think Andrew Scott is your Best Actor winner.
According to the Telluride savant @Gort2 and the audience scores polled from Telluride, ELSINORE is a slam dunk Best Picture nominee

The opposite is true. Finally someone stood up to the tantrum and the child. That's the truth.
They're really gonna let that child get what he wants all because he threw a tantrum and it's gonna ruin the film industry. We are so deeply fucked.

What did you do, Ryan? You never put yourself out there. You proofread my stuff, then took credit for it and pretended you actually wrote it all. You never started your own site or put yourself on the line. I am appreciative of the help you gave me over the years. It was invaluable. But what you really are is a big fish in a small pond who craves power yet is too afraid to take any real risks with your writing or building a site or anything. So all you can do is tear down what you can't build on your own, what you're too afraid to do. Neither Jeremy nor Scott is afraid. They're not cowards like you or many here on Film Twitter who cave, buckle, and pander to the mob. They are actually trying to do something with their lives which takes risking everything from getting attacked by all of you monsters to criticism on what they write to having nobody read what they write. That takes courage. What you are is a coward. You hide on social media and bully and harass other people for the crime of disagreeing with you. You have nothing except the ugly things you say online. You are defined by hate, ruled by hate, and have nothing else going for you except hate, and have the nerve to say I am the one full of hate because I do not conform and still say whatever the fuck I want. All your stupid minions, however many you still have left, can marinate in it and roll around in it, but no one will ever build anything with lasting value because it's too comfortable to point fingers at others and blame them for your failures. Even now, all you do is obsess over me, as your shrinking group of minions can't even stand to look at what you've become, and all for what? Because I took you off comment moderation, and for whatever reason you loved that job. And I have no idea why until now. I wrote you many times, and you ignored everything. I never trashed you publicly or privately. Others have trashed you to me over the years. You annoyed everyone, but I couldn't let you go because I liked you, even loved you as a friend. But what a fool I was, eh? Take away your little tiny pond in the comment sections, and that's it. Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction. You won't be ignored. Well, shame on you for trashing Jerm and Scott. You know how icky that is. Deep down, you know. And if you fuckwits don't like what we say on the site or the podcast, go dive into the abundance of media sites that cover the Oscars the way you want them to. I agree it's boring, but that's what you want, right? You want conformity, which is boring. I put myself out there every day and have already had my career destroyed. And that's not enough? Seriously. is that not enough? Just because you can't rule over the comment section?
