It's another day for the week. Who has tried Full stack Open course? How was the experience like? I'm about to start it and I need to know from people who had done this before what their experience was.

Convenience, speed and saving time. People will pay to avoid a 2-hour headache when someone else can make it a 20-minute problem
I wake up everyday to think about how I can be of value to others. What are people paying for right now ??

Probably trying to plan for the coming week.
Developers, what does your weekend look like? 👨‍💻 Are you: - Pushing that side project closer to completion? - Debugging the bugs you introduced during the week? 😭 - Exploring a new technology? - Stepping out to touch some grass? - Working on a client’s project? - Or finally giving your laptop and brain a much-needed break? 😂 What’s taking up your weekend?

This is what happens when a web developer is left alone with Figma and too much coffee. Dark mode or light mode?

I saw another developer’s portfolio some weeks ago and I wanted to hire them even though I had no job offer. I knew I wanted something like that for myself. A portfolio that feels intentional and tells MY story. Built with Claude code Check it out 🔗: rashedatjinadu.com/

This has been my focus lately, though it doesn't pay as much as building for foreign businesses. But it ensures steady income if proper outreach is done. Because, there are many small business in our country looking to go digital but don't know where to start from.

If you're student in Nigeria walahi I understand your struggles like mad. But please don't take loan. Don't!!!!! Learn how to cook and manage yourself while learning a soft skill, you can do with your phone.
You would think this is a lie until you hear the actual student's stories. I once went almost two days without food in university. There was nothing left in my room. I called home, but my parents didn't have money either. They were already struggling to balance everything at home while still sending me whatever they could. I begged someone for ₦500. Then I went into the nearby bush to pick vegetables because I knew which ones were safe to eat. I washed them, cooked them, bought one cup of egusi for ₦100, bought fufu because it was still affordable then, and somehow stretched that meal with the little fish I had for almost two days. That was my reality as a student. And that's why I do what I do today. Because sometimes people see a struggling student and think they're lazy or don't know how to make money. No. Some of us went to university because we were trying to become somebody. We just came from homes that couldn't afford to carry us through everything. Nigeria can be brutally hard, especially when you're young and trying to find your way. I've been there. That's why whenever I can help someone find a job, learn a skill, make money or simply survive another month, I take it seriously. I know what it feels like to have nothing.

Good morning. And happy new week. Today I finally understood why it's important to always reach out to your contacts whenever you've learnt a skill and you are looking for someone to pay for the skill. I just closed a mutual hopefully he brings in more referrals.

AI replacing some human jobs should not be a reason not to acquire a skill today. Instead of being scared of AI, learn a skill and learn how AI can make you better at it. The people who adapt will have an edge. Don’t stop learning because AI is advancing.

Certificate i’d actually put on a resume if i was trying to look hireable without paying $400 for a badge 1) freecodecamp — responsive web + javascript you build projects. a cert with no repo is just a sticker. 2)google cloud — intro to generative ai short. free badge. shows you didn’t sit out the last two years. 3)ibm skillsbuild — ai foundations free ibm name. finish it, then ship one tiny project or it’s wallpaper. 4)microsoft learn — azure fundamentals (az-900) training is free. hunt a virtual training day for a free exam voucher. 5)isc2 — certified in cybersecurity rare entry cyber cert that isn’t a cartoon badge. grab a voucher if they’re still handing them out. 6)cisco netacad — intro to cybersecurity free badge. useful for IT support / security-adjacent. skip if you only ship frontend. 7)fortinet nse 1–3 fully free exams. not as famous as security+. still better than a youtube playlist. 8)elements of ai — university of helsinki university name, zero cost. lightweight. pair it with something hands-on. 9)google cloud skill badge (the one with labs) watching videos doesn’t count. the lab badge does. 10)mongodb university only if you touch data. don’t collect it for the aesthetic. rule: one cert, one thing on github that proves i opened the tools. otherwise it’s just text on linkedin.
