These iconic butterflies can be seen flying between May and June in damp or chalk grasslands where they lay large batches of eggs on their food plant, Devil’s-bit Scabious. 🌼 The larvae spin conspicuous webs that can easily be recorded in late summer. 🐛 #Springwatch

Okay we can’t kelp it, we’re going to talk carbon sequestration. Kelp absorbs CO2 whilst it grows – up to 600 million tonnes every year, which is more than double the number of emissions produced by the UK each year. #Springwatch @BBCSpringwatch
