This is really interesting & shows how weak the deals with the councils really are. They are not binding at all. Tfl want to regulate the companies and I suspect this will speed that up.

Strictly speaking the driverless cars are not “Robotaxis” as to be a taxi, regulations mean a taxi meter is required that charges per mile and a tight turning circle … I think robocabs is probably just about acceptable. But I fear that battle may be lost #pedant

Virgin plans to serve only London St Pancras in UK. Initially services will be to Paris with 6 daily trains, rising to 10 from April 2031 then 13 from October 2031. Brussels starts in February 2031 (4 services) and Amsterdam in September 2031 (3 services).
Rail Regulator ORR has ‘pre-approved’ a track access deal between Virgin Trains Europe and HS1 for up to 20 return trains per day between London St Pancras and Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam for 10 years from October 2030. Services will run in competition to Eurostar.
