Serapis evolved in the Graeco Egyptian early classical era also as a serpent bodied, human bearded white man head interpretation.
Meet Serapis.
When Alexander The Great dies in 323 BCE, his body was supposed to go back to Macedonia.
However, as Alexander’s generals
Fought amongst themselves to see who of them would control what part of Alexander’s now-divided empire, it was Ptolemy who realized that to control possession of an Alexander’s body would give him authority.
So Ptolemy abducts Alexander’s body on its way back to Macedonia and instead absconds with it to Egypt where he names himself the first Graeco Egyptian Pharoah Ptolemy I of the new Ptolemaic Dynasty which lasted 300 years but was the last Pharaonic dynasty, which ended when cleopatra, who was Greek, not Egyptian, lost to Octavian at the Battle of Actium, 32 BCE.
So back to Ptolemy stealing Alexander’s dead body. Ptolemy becomes Pharoah, decides he needs to unite his Graeco Egyptian population by creating a combination god of Zeus, Hades, he also combines the Egyptian gods Osiris and Apis (the sacred bull) into Osarapis, which was Hellenized to Serapis.
And we have the Graeco Egyptian magick deity of SERAPIS.
Serapis has a serpent wrapped around him or is sometimes portrayed as a giant snakes with a white bearded man’s head.
I believe he is also a continuation of the Persian god Mithras. Which I will show With contemporaneous, extant evidence.
Mithras begins a human in Persia but evolves into the Leontocepahline in Graeco Roman era after it is adopted by Roman soldiers in the late classical era. This is pertinent because essentially human Mithras is portrayed as a human Leontocepahline (see photo) . Or the Lion Serpent Sun.
And we are back to Serapis.
