Join us Friday, October 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at North Valley Little League, 4007 Edith Blvd. NE. We’ll have decorated vehicles, candy, music, food and prizes. Rain or shine! This is one of the largest trunk-or-treat events in Bernalillo County, and we need help keeping the candy coming. We typically give out about $10,000 worth of candy in a single evening. Businesses and individuals who would like to donate candy can message this page to coordinate and we will share additional details on this event page. North Valley Little League can provide a donation receipt. Bring the kids, wear your costumes, and come see us!

The nomination recognizes BCSO’s deployment of an R10 interior drone during a dangerous barricaded-subject incident. A suspect had shut himself inside a camper trailer, and instead of sending deputies in without knowing what they would encounter, deputies sent the drone first. The R10 located what appeared to be a homemade firearm and provided deputies with critical information. The suspect then grabbed the drone and threw it through a window, where it continued recording and captured his arrest from outside. This is exactly why we invest in technology that can go into dangerous places before our deputies do. Deputies are working a motor vehicle crash at the 148ext on westbound I-40. The number 1 lane is closed at this time.

Football is back, and Deputy Mirabal is apparently ready for the season! Our deputies regularly encounter offenders using bicycles and backpacks to move drugs and stolen property through Albuquerque. This stop is one example. Deputy Mirabal recently contacted a man riding a bicycle along the I-25 frontage road. He identified himself as “Dominic Vinceway,” but when Deputy Mirabal tried to verify his information, he took off on the bike. Deputy Mirabal caught up and tackled him so hard that Mirabal’s watch detected a crash and started the countdown to call 911. You can hear it in the video and the watch also cracked during the tackle. During booking, deputies discovered “Dominic Vinceway” was actually Travis Romero. Romero was arrested for identity theft, resisting, concealing his identity and traffic offenses. Romero also had four outstanding felony warrants involving charges of receiving or transferring a stolen motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing, and possession of a controlled substance. FINAL BOX SCORE ▪ Deputy Mirabal: 1 pursuit, 1 tackle, 1 arrest ▪ Romero: 0 successful escapes, 0 yards after contact ▪ Smartwatch: 1 crash alert, 1 cracked screen ▪ BCSO: 1 wanted man in custody Someone get Mirabal a jersey. The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office urgently seeks the public's assistance in locating missing 10-year-old, Sofia Alvarado. Sofia was last seen in the area of Jennie Rd SW, wearing black pants, a white shirt with bows, white converse and wears glasses. She is believed to be with her mother, Keren Rodriguez-Cera, who does not have legal custody. They are believed to be in a tan 2005 Toyota Camry. Due to the circumstances, law enforcement in concerned for Sofia's safety.
