Adversity will always test the space between teammates. Connection is easy when everyone is winning. The real test comes when frustration, pressure, and adversity show up. Great teams don’t splinter. They tighten the circle.

I wrote a book with PJ titled Row the Boat. I can tell you he is the real deal. What you see is what you get.
PJ Fleck was asked after the game how he's able shut out the haters and continue being himself despite the heat he takes publicly. His message, per usual, is worth a listen no matter what you think of the Minnesota Gophers' head coach. "We will never ever, ever, ever take winning for granted... I don't think there's any reason for anybody in this world, no matter who you are, to apologize for who you are. As long as you are being the best, most authentic, most real version of yourself every day, and you're changing your best, and you're doing good in the world. You do that, don't you ever change... Be yourself."

Mental performance is difficult to coach when it isn’t observable. Instead of “Have a strong mindset,” define the behaviors: One breath after the whistle. Eyes on the focal point. A physical action that signals the next play. Now you can see it, reinforce it, and correct

Stop preaching. Start teaching. Preaching says, “Be tougher.” Teaching defines what toughness looks like and creates reps with feedback. Preaching says, “Focus.” Teaching shows athletes how to recognize drift and return. Preaching says, “Move on.” Teaching gives them a

You probably haven’t said it enough. Average leaders communicate once and assume everyone got the message. Great leaders communicate it over and over again. One-on-one. As a team. Every day. Because when you leave a void in communication, negativity will fill it. Great leaders communicate and overcommunicate to fill the void.

John Harbaugh on the "Four Fights" that sabotage players and winning teams. 1. Us vs. Them 2. Division From Within 3. Complacency 4. Fatigue If you, a player, or your team feels off, distracted, or flat, ask yourself, "Which of these four fights are we in right now?" Once you can name the fight, then you can lead your way out of it. 📹: Maryland Commerce

The mind needs access to memories of effective performance. Many people replay failures in detail while treating success as an accident. Try this today: Choose three real successful moments. Write the details you controlled. Review them before performance. Use the cue:

4 Ways to Get Faster ⬇️ 1. Hill Sprints: Hill sprints will help you run in the correct form of acceleration and improve force application with each foot strike. 2. Resisted Sprints: Force application must be highly specific to the mechanics and demands of sprinting. Sled resisted sprints are one of the BEST tools to accomplish this. 3. Dynamic Skips: Improve knee drive, dynamic ankle stability, arm drive, posture, ground contact time, and rhythm - many factors that contribute to fast and explosive athletes. 4. Max-Effort Sprints with Complete Recovery: To run fast you need to do just that, run fast. Sprint intensity should be 95%+ on each sprint if you’re trying to get faster. Additionally, you need to be recovering fully following each sprint! Rest 60 sec. every 10 yards covered.

Yes!! Listen to the best to ever do it! Drills are fine… BUT… you must take lots and lots of ground balls … and make throws to bases. I’ll add, if I may, and do all that on a stop watch. Beat 4.1 or 4.0 seconds. Then add in a quality “catch play routine”and you are well ahead of 95% of those who want the same thing you do (your competition). Those after more playing time and/or advancing levels to the very top.
🚨 Ozzie + Arenado Fielding Philosophy • Feel the rhythm & flow of the ball. • There’s no drill that can replace ground ball reps. • Be creative. Try different movements. ⭐️ Elite Fielding is an art form. The best develop their own style after countless reps.

Winning doesn’t reduce the work. Losing doesn’t increase it. The next opportunity requires the same commitment to preparation either way. Don’t let success make you comfortable. Don’t let failure make you emotional. The result changes. The standard doesn’t.
