Britain needs a Prime Minister who does not give a damn what Brussels, the UN, the IMF or the left-wing media think. Close the borders. Deport illegal migrants. Cut welfare dependency. Put British interests first. Do it unapologetically. That is the leadership this country desperately needs.

A village of 580 people. A proposed asylum site for around 1,250 men. Who looks at those numbers and thinks, “Yes, perfectly reasonable” ? Only an insane government.

Burnham might love to rid himself of 100 troublesome Labour backbenchers. The problem is that if he rolls the dice now, he risks getting rid of himself as well. He has a huge majority and years left in Downing Street. Why would he gamble all of that on an election that could leave him without a majority and without a job?

Why is the British government failing to take action?

I am sick of hearing that we need another agreement with France before Britain can control its own border. We do not. I do not care whether the French cooperate. Britain’s border is Britain’s responsibility. Our government needs to develop a backbone, take control and do the job it is obligated to do - enforce our borders.

Tony Blair said in 2017 that his “mission” was to persuade the British people to change their minds on Brexit. I have not changed mine. I believe in sovereignty, borders, self-determination and laws made in Britain for the British national interest. I see absolutely no case for surrendering those powers back to Brussels.

Britain is supposed to be rebuilding its Armed Forces while welfare spending is forecast to hit £407 BILLION by 2030-31. We cannot keep pretending there are no choices to make. We currently spend £333 BILLION a year on welfare. I would rather cut taxes on working people, get our economy firing again and restore welfare to what it was supposed to be: a safety net for those who genuinely need it.

There is something spectacularly slippery about telling a heavily Leave constituency that you are “not proposing” EU membership, becoming Prime Minister, and then refusing to rule out putting EU re-entry in Labour’s next manifesto.

We are told these boats are too unseaworthy to intercept. This one spent 36 hours at sea after leaving Normandy. So explain to me why returning it towards France was supposedly impossible. If the vessel can travel 70 miles in one journey it is capable of returning to France.

Two things the government is doing right now: 1) Launching a National Centre for Information Defence to battle 'far-Right narratives' and 'distorted and untrue' narratives about Britain. 2) Using legal action to prevent the release of crime data broken down by nationality.

This is an absolutely premeditated, coordinated, illegal migration of people from France to the United Kingdom with the French Navy and Border Force and therefore our respective governments in complicity. That is now clear.

I don’t buy the idea of an early election. Labour has a huge Commons majority. Andy Burnham would be gambling that away and potentially forcing his own party into a hung Parliament. My view is that his problem is much closer to home: his own MPs.

We’ve got to restore what it means to be British if we want to put the British national interest first. Before we can even tackle the right policies for this country, we need a root and branch restoration of our constitution.

Piddington is speaking. The problem is that Westminster doesn’t appear to be listening. This goes far beyond one Oxfordshire village. Across the country, communities are asking why enormous decisions about asylum accommodation are being made around them rather than with them.

So dumbed down has our politics become that we now have career politicians prepared to prostitute their own beliefs in pursuit of a parliamentary salary. Whether it comes from trade unions or crypto billionaires, once enormous sums of money enter party politics, the obvious question is: what influence does that money buy?

We have become a nation of dependency and a nation of victimhood. Successive governments created this through their approach to the welfare state. If a nation refuses to work then that nation goes bust and it does so pretty quickly. We have gone from the nanny state to the wet nurse.

When I look at Parliament, I see far too many career politicians who appear more concerned with keeping their seats than standing by their convictions. MPs are now paid £98,599 a year. Britain desperately needs politicians prepared to risk that salary and position by actually standing for something.

I agree with him 100%. It’s tragic. Parliament is infested with self interested grifters.

Piddington epitomises the problem. Here you have a quintessential English village, which you say will be ruined. It will cease to be. It won't be Piddington. It will be some kind of dystopian representation of North Africa or the Middle East or some Middle Eastern country in the heart of the British countryside, inhabited not by the best people coming from North Africa or the Middle East, but actually people who've broken into the country illegally. And this is what the government is failing to recognise. It doesn't have to be fair... in the way that it abuses the British people. What it has to do is stop the abuse of the British people in the first place. These illegal migrants shouldn't be allowed into the country full stop. And if anyone gets past border control, they should then be detained and deported, kept under lock and key until they go home. End of story. That's it.

This is the rot in British politics. Former Cabinet Secretary Chris Wormald, who was sacked after just 14 months, walked away with an £860,000 payoff. Starmer forced that through against all "value for money warnings". Now he is a Lord receiving £390 a day. We funded his failure and now we are funding his future.
