What if oxytocin—the hormone linked to love and bonding—could also help an injured heart heal?
Researchers found that oxytocin activated heart cells that can become new cardiac cells in zebrafish and human cell cultures.
It’s an exciting clue toward heart regeneration, but it is still early-stage research, not a treatment yet.
