We've published a total of six releases in the past few days, culminating with today's 0.18.5 update. Updating to the latest version is mandatory because v0.18.5 raises the swap protocol version and will not trade with v0.18.4 and earlier.
The Decred and Firo core updates are mandatory as well, and there is a one-time database migration that occurs automatically.
✅ Refund-path hardening for adaptor-sig swaps, closing a fee-replacement route on the shared lock output
✅ Reworked mercy path so a failed swap can still recover the other side's coin (on by default again)
✅ Stricter fee verification, plus Electrum now defaults to TLS (mark plaintext entries with :t)
✅ Mandatory Decred and Firo core updates, plus database housekeeping (schema v38)
