Fred Durst turned one of his most humiliating relationship experiences into “Nookie”. After discovering that his girlfriend had been unfaithful, he stayed with her anyway, then channelled the anger, embarrassment and self-blame into lyrics about knowing you are being treated badly but refusing to walk away. That vulnerability sat beneath one of Limp Bizkit’s biggest riffs, helping Significant Other turn the band into international stars. At Rock am Park in 2001, the personal frustration behind the song is almost swallowed by thousands of people shouting its chorus back at the stage.

When they arrived, I did not hate them. Their music wasn't my thing, but I respected them. They tapped into something at the right time. That something was dumb, white, suburban angst-filled boys, for which there were millions. Borland is an underrated guitarist btw.

There’s a huge difference when you go to a live concert someone like this guy or even Eminem. It sounds pretty much just like the CDs, but that’s not true at all rappers. Most are terrible live in my experience

People who weren’t alive in 99/00 will never understand just how big Bizkit was. The backwards red Yankees cap was iconic at the time. Everyone was rocking it. They were the biggest band in the world during this time. Then they tried to blame them for Woodstock which backfired

I was an engineer on Results May Vary. Never met a bigger D-bag. Sam was cool. Wes was gone. John had knocked up a stripper in Chicago who was living at his house in LA. So john avoided her by doing blow all night in studio making me babysit and play back the days takes

It was bad then, and it's bad now. Let's leave this in the dust bin of history where it belongs.
