"It’s only Resident Evil in name" has been the exact same complaint for literally every entry since the original RE4.
RE5, 6, 7, 8, the remakes... at this point, not even Resident Evil fans know what a Resident Evil game is supposed to be.
Welp, the Resident Evil movie was exactly as I expected. Cregger is great at his job and this was a very fun ride. But. Yeah, it's only Resident Evil in name. People even arguing that it gets the "feel" of an RE game are liars.

I’m level 100 with 60 hours played, and once you start facing people who actually know how to play, the game sort of falls apart. It’s extremely fun right now, but it needs some massive changes to the core gameplay to survive past the honeymoon period.
i wonder how long the honeymoon period will last until people realize that Halloween is balanced around doing exactly this to players. don't even blame the dude for being mad but its also literally the only reliable way of killing people with a brain / dodges pocket knives
