GOD this guy is fucking INSUFFERABLE!! if we’re talking about “technically illegal” we’re talking like cops. nobody is stupid enough to think it’s actually legal to use uncleared samples. the issue is with dk’s policies changing. sample clearance is a different conversation.

this is missing the point. if i had my music taken down and they told me which songs or samples were responsible, i would have no issue with the decision. i may even be able to remove a few songs and keep the release up. the issue is the complete lack of communication from distro
Curious for the people who have had their music pulled from districtchild - did you sign a contract (tick a box) saying you cleared every sample? Subsequently, did you, uh, clear every sample?

@DistroKid you took down at least 5 albums that i paid to put up with no explanation or chance for appeal. i will be canceling my subscription and recommending to others they do the same if this is not addressed.
Has @DistroKid publicly acknowledged the fact that they've been routinely taking down a considerable amount of artists' releases for no clear reason? Or with accusations of uncleared samples that these artists never used in the 1st place? If not, do you think they're going to?

If you’re on distrokid I strongly suggest you do your research and find a new distribution partner ASAP.
They’ve been removing people’s music without notifying them. You might think it won’t happen to you, but it will. They don’t care.
