The same accounts in the comments, defending the AI slopdrop, unable to do anything productive except mindlessly boosting AI. Can they explain these results, where they might lead? No, of course not. That would require a love they never had the capacity for, one must conclude.
OpenAI’s faster Fourier transform is less a mathematical breakthrough and more a malicious exploit of mathematical traditions. argmin.net/p/faster-fourier-…

Tao is describing the covid “vaccine”.
This is a slide from Terence Tao's 'Math 2.0' public lecture yesterday evening at Caltech. I am highly confident that, if the cure actually worked, almost any Stage 4 cancer patient would tell you that human comprehension of its mechanism is completely irrelevant to them.

I miss Giga Downie. His jouissance was infectious.

Not happy that math opposition to this attack on its culture is accreting around Tao. There are multiple points to be made on this. The reaction risks polarising the culture in an unhelpful way. I feel like both sides are misunderstanding the essence, although the OpenAI people are clearly more dangerous in the short term.

At least one of these results likely came from snooping on someone’s work. Raises more questions about AI really being corporate espionage.
We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model. We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results. github.com/openai/math

Dan is good, but this is a red herring, and possibly an attempt to bait posters into saying something to justify surveillance. Conscription wouldn’t work in majority-Muslim parts of the UK. The economy relies on Nicholas, 30 ans feeding the state. He can’t do that in Donbass.
"We need to lock people up who won't let the Zoomers die in Ukraine" You better get my cell ready then because I'm not letting you take our Zoomer lads to get droned for Kiev. And I won't just speak up either - I will use force against conscriptors.

Why have places like Texas, Canada, Ireland, specifically, felt the brunt of India’s biomass dumping? Who coordinated this?

The Barbican is a supreme expression of love. The Anglo’s broken heart for a future that slipped through his fingers.

“Always been partial to a Camembert. I have yet to find a more reliable cheese.” “I’m a cheddar man myself. Not like the skeleton though hahah!” “I’m sorry I don’t follow. Why would a skeleton have cheese? Is it a Spanish thing? Odd traditions, but I appreciate the culture.”

“Diversification” is cope when seven names are a third of the fund and the growth engine underneath them is the same capex cycle. Surmount is how you take that weight back. Write concentration and factor limits into a strategy (Promptfolio, no-code, or Python), backtest it, connect the brokerage you already use. Execution, rebalancing, and defensive rules then run against what you actually own, not against the S&P label.

The so called randomly stabbed BOA "VP" aka Erin Piacenti. She lived in a 2 million dollar house in New Jersey. She wasn't just "VP" of BOA, she was also an associate working for a multi-national law firm known as Davis, Polk and Wardwell which operates in various cities such as Wash D.c.,Los Angeles,Redwood City CA and Boston MA with its headquarters in New York. Former maiden name - Guiltinan, Erin's job wasn't just VP, it was VP of "Business Selection and Conflicts". The VP would direct all the investment banking deal teams along with clearance processes. 2 days ago "someone" put out a request for a "new" VP at Bank of America to take over this position.

The story about the lady who killed her children has probably attracted women’s sympathy because WFH ended.

This isn’t their fault, it is an evolutionary process to solve optimal resource allocation. Current system has them geishamax for management and is miss-allocation of their time for species survival.

Current job market + end of WFH + inflation increasing childcare costs has created a situation where many now feel crushed. Probably wish there was another way out. Baby killer lady speaks to this in a dark way.

This is how MAGA will be remembered.
The mathematicians crying about AI wiping out their jobs spent the past 50 years ignoring and ridiculing the concerns of blue-collar Rustbelt factory workers who saw their jobs shipped to Mexico, China, and India. I'd say they should take this moment for some introspection.
