Women start life with 1-2 million ova. A single ejaculate from a man has roughly 250 million spermatozoa. The probability that two people meet, have sex on a particular night, and produce YOU is infinitesimally small, and yet 117 billion people were produced on earth. Given the statistical improbability of any one individual's existence, it seems impossible that any of us could exist. And yet here I sit typing these words, and you reading my words.
A question: Professor David Gelernter (Yale) published an essay in 2019 entitled “Giving Up Darwin,” which shook me up, he showed the impossibility of 150 amino acids hooking up by chance into a meaningful protein. The odds are one chance in 10/78th power, which is none. There are 10,000 proteins in the human body. I have since learned biologists in general backing away from Darwin’s chance evolution theory. How does this affect your work as much is based upon evolution?
