Ashutosh Rana did not arrive in Hindi cinema as a hero. He arrived as the face you could not forget. Born Ashutosh Ramnarayan Neekhra on 10 November 1967 in Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh, he took the screen name Rana from his father’s name, Ram Narayan. As a boy he played Ravana in the town Ramleela. Later he trained at the National School of Drama, worked in theatre, and broke through on television before films made him famous for the opposite of charm. In Dushman he was Gokul Pandit, an ordinary looking killer with no gimmicks. In Sangharsh he was Lajja Shankar Pandey, a performance so cold it still unsettles. Both won him the Filmfare Award for Best Villain. The common man as the monster. That was his signature. Away from that darkness he married Renuka Shahane in 2001, raised two sons, wrote books, and returned to the stage as Ravana in Humare Ram. Intensity on screen. A quieter life off it. Some actors chase the spotlight. Ashutosh Rana made the shadow unforgettable.

Bollywood had some legendary directors… but even legends sometimes crossed the line when it came to portraying women on screen. Raj Kapoor - Zeenat Aman in Satyam Shivam Sundaram. Raj Kapoor - Mandakini in Ram Teri Ganga Maili. Rakesh Roshan - Shilpa Shirodkar in Kishen Kanhaiya. B. Subhash - Kimi Katkar in Adventures of Tarzan. And Dara Singh’s son Vindu Singh appeared in Karan, produced by his father. These films were celebrated as entertainment and glamour at the time. But looking back today, some of these choices feel extremely uncomfortable. Where do you draw the line between artistic expression and objectification?

🚨 BOLLYWOOD’S MOST CONTROVERSIAL SECRET LOVE STORY? 😳 He was already married. She was his leading lady. And then came the explosive rumours that the two had allegedly become so close, they were even living under the same roof. The names at the centre of the storm? Rohit Shetty and Prachi Desai. During the making of Bol Bachchan, reports claimed that the filmmaker and actress grew extremely close. Rumours went so far as to allege that Rohit arranged a romantic dinner for Prachi in Jaipur and that their equation had turned into something much more than professional. The controversy became even bigger because Rohit was already married to Maya Shetty, whom he had married in 2005. But there was a major twist: neither Rohit nor Prachi ever confirmed the alleged relationship. Rohit later publicly addressed the rumours and denied them, saying he had even heard reports that he had moved into a house with Prachi. Years later, Prachi also spoke about celebrity link-up rumours without confirming this particular relationship. So, was there really something happening behind the scenes or was it simply another Bollywood rumour that spiralled out of control?

Vinod Khanna talking how he left Bollywood & connect with Osho
🚨He was one of Bollywood’s biggest stars. Then he walked away for nearly five years. When Vinod Khanna finally returned to a film set for Insaaf, he was reportedly nervous in front of the camera. He was unusually quiet, often sitting alone on the sets. During an emotional scene involving Dimple Kapadia’s character, Khanna reportedly had tears in his eyes even when the camera wasn't focused on him. Then came an unexpected turn. At one point, he reportedly considered leaving the film and returning to his spiritual life. An expensive set remained unused for over a month while the filmmakers waited. But as filming continued, Khanna slowly became himself again. He joked with people, relaxed on set and found his confidence. Watching Insaaf today, knowing what was happening behind the scenes, gives the film a completely different feeling. For those who remember Vinod Khanna in his prime, here's the question: If he had never walked away at the height of his career, how different would Bollywood history have been?

What if one of the most talked-about 90s Bollywood affairs was never actually an affair at all? For years, reports linked Meenakshi Seshadri and Kumar Sanu, and the story reportedly began around Mahesh Bhatt’s Jurm. Sanu had sung the unforgettable “Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye”, which was filmed on Meenakshi. Not long after, rumours began circulating that the two had become close and were allegedly dating. The gossip became even more controversial because Kumar Sanu was married to Rita Bhattacharya at the time. Their marriage eventually ended in divorce in 1994. But Sanu himself told Navbharat Times that there was no affair with Meenakshi. He claimed that someone else had used his name to keep their own involvement hidden. At the same time, the publication reported that Sanu’s former secretary had previously claimed the singer was dating Meenakshi. So what was the truth? A rumour, a secret relationship, or simply 90s Bollywood gossip that grew with every retelling? We may never know for certain. But this is exactly the kind of old Bollywood story that makes you wonder how much of what appeared in those film magazines was actually true.

Neha Sharma knows exactly how to keep her paid subscribers happy. Every post seems to be getting deeper and deeper, with the neckline doing most of the marketing. At this point, it feels less like a coincidence and more like a perfectly planned subscription strategy. Honestly, the marketing game is strong.

Would they have made it into Bollywood without the Kapoor family name, industry connections, and the privilege of being star kids?

They were mocking Vidya Balan here. The “size zero” phase of Bollywood was incredibly toxic. Many actresses proudly flaunted extreme thinness as an achievement, as if starving yourself was something to celebrate, while mocking women who didn’t fit that unrealistic beauty standard. Vidya Balan was incredibly talented, yet she faced constant trolling simply for refusing to fit into that narrow ideal. Priyanka and SRK were no exceptions to that culture.
