Yesterday in Kaduna, I witnessed the Passing Out Parade of the Cadets of the 73 Regular Course, Short Service Course 49 (Army), Direct Short Service Course 34 (Air Force), and Branch Commission Course 3 (Air Force) of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).
I congratulate the graduands and commend particularly their parents and guardians, whose sacrifices, support and prayers have contributed immensely to this important milestone.
I commend the Commandant, instructors, officers, men and the entire NDA community for their dedication to the development of a new generation of military leaders.
To our gallant men and women in uniform, I urge you to remain resolute in the service of our fatherland, uphold military professionalism, and continue to discharge your constitutional responsibilities with courage, discipline, and loyalty to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

President Carlos Manuel Vila Nova won the presidential election in São Tomé held on July 19.

Today at the 7th Nigeria–Türkiye Defence Industries Cooperation Meeting in Abuja, i emphasised on our main objective to develop a defence industry that is capable of meeting the requirements of our Armed Forces in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu agenda to to build a strong, self-reliant and technologically capable Nigerian Defence Industry.
With the DICON Act 2023, our responsibility now is to convert that framework into industrial capacity, local production and technological capability.
Türkiye remains an important partner, and we are committed to deepening this relationship in ways that strengthen Nigeria’s defence preparedness, develop our human capital, create jobs and expand opportunities for Nigerian industry and investors.

ACCEPTANCE OF MY APPOINTMENT TO THE 2027 APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL AND APPRECIATION FOR THE CONFIDENCE REPOSED IN ME
This is to convey my profound appreciation for the confidence reposed in me through my appointment as Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence I, 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council.
I accept this responsibility with humility, gratitude and a deep sense of duty. I am truly honoured to be called upon to serve once again in an assignment of such national importance, and I fully recognise that this appointment is not merely an honour, but a call to greater service, responsibility and sacrifice.
To Mr. President, I remain deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served in the 2023 Presidential Campaign as Zonal Coordinator, North-West of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, where I had the privilege of working across the seven states of the North-West in support of Mr. President’s 2023 presidential bid. That experience remains one of the most important chapters of my political career, and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve again.
As I return to the Security and Intelligence Standing Committee, I will redouble my efforts, deepen my commitment and bring greater energy, experience, and strategic thinking to the task ahead. The lessons of the last campaign, together with the relationships built over the years, have prepared me for the demands and responsibilities of the assignment before us.
Since the 2023 election, my commitment to promoting the Renewed Hope Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not stopped. I have had the privilege of founding the Tinubu Again Movement, a nationwide movement to communicate the Administration’s achievements, policies and programmes across Nigeria.
As a Party-Man, I am equally grateful to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for the confidence placed in me and for the opportunity to serve as part of the team entrusted with this important national assignment.
I will work closely with the Director-General and every member of the Presidential Campaign Council in a spirit of unity and professionalism. In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and our commitment to strengthening Nigerian defence industry, advancing national security and economic growth, I led a high-level Nigerian delegation on a two-day visit to key defence industrial facilities in Egypt.
We visited the manufacturing facilities of Eagle International for Defence Systems Company in Suez and the Ministry of Military Production in Cairo.
Our objective is to deepen cooperation between Eagle International and Nigeria’s Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) for the joint manufacture of military equipment, development of indigenous capabilities and transfer of advanced defence technologies to Nigeria.

Yesterday, I was in Amman, Jordan, where I met with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, Major General Yousef A. Alhnaity.
On behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Defence Cooperation and Intelligence Sharing.
The MoU signed seeks to strengthen our cooperation, particularly as the security threats confronting Nigeria continue to evolve in complexity, asymmetric, and cross-border by nature.

As we conclude SAHA Expo 2026 today, one of the foremost international platforms for the defence, aerospace, and industrial sectors, Nigeria is honoured to have engaged with global industry leaders, partners, and defence stakeholders from across the world.
As part of our engagements at the B2B sessions of SAHA 2026, I met with the Secretary Defence Industries of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, we discussed on bilateral cooperation in defence and security, capacity-building initiatives, technology transfer, and strategic collaborations aimed at enhancing our mutual operational capabilities.

COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) ZAMFARA STATE STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING HELD ON 25TH APRIL, 2026 AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE, GUSAU
1. PREAMBLE
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara State convened a high-level Stakeholders’ Meeting on Saturday, 25th April, 2026, at Government House, Gusau.
The meeting brought together critical party leaders, elected officials, elders, youth and women representatives, as well as key stakeholders across the fourteen (14) Local Government Areas of the State.
The meeting provided a strategic platform for extensive deliberations on party unity, governance alignment, security imperatives, and preparations for forthcoming party activities and the 2027 General Elections.
At the conclusion of deliberations, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted:
2. RESOLUTIONS
2.1 Total and Unconditional Support for Party Leadership
The meeting reaffirmed its total, unified, and unconditional loyalty to the leadership of the Party in Zamfara State under His Excellency, Dr. Dauda Lawal.
Stakeholders resolved to consolidate internal cohesion, strengthen party structures, and ensure discipline at all levels in order to guarantee effective coordination, stability, and sustained progress within the Party.
2.2 Endorsement of National and State Leadership
The stakeholders formally endorsed the leadership and reform direction of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as His Excellency, Dr. Dauda Lawal, Governor of Zamfara State.
In a clear demonstration of unity, confidence, and strategic alignment, the meeting further resolved that the people of Zamfara State, in conjunction with the entire APC structure in the State, unequivocally support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections.
Similarly, stakeholders unanimously endorsed and declared total support for the re-election of His Excellency, Dr. Dauda Lawal, as Governor of Zamfara State in the 2027 General Elections, in recognition of his leadership, ongoing reforms, and commitment to security stabilization, economic recovery, and sustainable development.
This collective endorsement reflects a shared resolve to consolidate ongoing gains, ensure continuity of governance, and strengthen the delivery of democratic dividends at both national and sub-national levels.
2.3 Commitment to Peaceful, Transparent, and Credible Party Processes
The meeting resolved to work collectively and diligently towards the successful conduct of forthcoming party congresses and primary elections.
Stakeholders emphasized that all processes must be peaceful, transparent, inclusive, and conducted in strict compliance with the Party’s Constitution and established guidelines.
2.4 Collective Responsibility for Party Growth and Electoral Success
Stakeholders pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization across all wards and Local Government Areas to further strengthen the APC’s presence.
Members were charged to work both individually and collectively towards ensuring the Party’s overwhelming success in all future electoral contests, particularly the 2027 General Elections.
2.5 Alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda
The meeting expressed strong support for the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the Federal Government and resolved to align state-level policies, programmes, and political messaging to reinforce its objectives of economic revitalization, social inclusion, and national security.
2.6 Support for Security Efforts and Inter-Agency Collaboration
Recognizing the prevailing security challenges, particularly banditry and related criminal activities, stakeholders resolved to:

b. Strengthen collaboration between communities and security institutions;
c. Promote intelligence sharing and civic responsibility as part of a whole-of-society approach to restoring peace and stability.

The meeting emphasized the imperative of unity within the Party and called on all members to eschew divisive tendencies.
Mechanisms for conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement at all levels are to be reinforced in order to sustain harmony, discipline, and cohesion within the Party.

The APC Zamfara State Stakeholders’ Meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to unity, discipline, and strategic coordination in advancing the Party’s objectives at both State and National levels.
The meeting reaffirmed that a united APC remains the most viable platform for delivering sustainable development, strengthening democratic governance, and securing a prosperous future for Zamfara State and Nigeria at large.

Yesterday in Gusau, I was at the APC Stakeholders meeting with other party chieftains at the Zamfara State Government House in Gusau.
Speaking at the meeting, I reaffirmed my support for Governor Dauda Lawal, and I also commended him for calling this important and timely meeting.
We discussed issues that concern our dear state, especially insecurity and why we must put our best foot forward to ensure peace and security in Zamfara State. As Minister of State for Defence, I will work with Governor Dauda Lawal to ensure Zamfara becomes truly great.
While reading the communiqué at the end of the meeting, we unanimously endorsed the leadership and reform agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as His Excellency, Dr. @daudalawal_, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State.
