Gage Goncalves on what's changed for the #GoBolts from a disappointing season opener: "I think a little bit of it's our mentality, and I think we're winning a lot more 50/50 battles. And by winning 50/50 battles, you get more touches, you get more offensive zone chances, and that's probably been the biggest changeup from that first one in New York."

Cooper on the #GoBolts power play: "Do we deserve to be 0-for-13? We don't. But still, you wake up in the morning and we don't have a power-play goal. The good thing is we've won two of our three games, and we haven't had one. But we don't want this to go on too much longer because you take pride in your special teams. It's a slow start statistically, but they've had some good ones. It just hasn't got in yet."

#GoBolts coach Jon Cooper on D'Astous/two D-men on the top power play: "It's early in the year, and we don't get a ton of practice time, so you have to try different things. So who knows, maybe this is something we'll go with. We're getting different looks, and he's had success up there. I'm not saying we're going with it, but it's an option for us."
Changes to the #GoBolts power plays today, 2 defensemen on the top unit.
Carlson on the left, D’Astous up top and Kucherov the right, Guentzel down low, Point in the bumper.
Moser’s running power play two, Hagel left and Geekie right. Goncalves and Cirelli down low.

#GoBolts Cooper: "I think we learned a lesson in the first game...We're not the only team that laid an egg in game one. There's a lot of teams in the league that have had some tough outings. What I really like is our next two have been pretty darn good."

Mikheyev on his line with Holmberg and Girgensons: "We just try to play simple and just try to play both ways, and it's step by step for us."

Cooper on #GoBolts F Brayden Point: "I like Point's game. I think part of it with him is staying healthy, and it's a little bit of a confidence thing with him. I don't think he was used to scoring 18 goals last year, but he really dedicated himself this summer into getting back to what makes him tick, what makes him work.
"What I love about him is he's winning his battles. He's skating. It's weird that the goal he has this year is a tip like that was, where I think some of the other chances he's had haven't gone quite in for him, but those are always big exhale goals. Pointer has been one of those guys when he gets one, he usually gets a bunch. So hopefully that's what happens."
