There's another way to look at the issue of notional male superiority. The male mind is linear, looks for useful solutions, is very direct, wants to get to basics (speaking generally, of course.) Perhaps that suited the circumstances when humanity was first finding its way.

Not really 'the' government. If you think about Biden, he was doing a reasonably good job of bringing the USA economy back after Trump's first term, but got blamed for the problems anyhow.
Most people in France can't afford housing. They didn't blame immigrants, or transgender people, or video games, or avocado toast. They blame the government. Because that's who's responsible. That's always who's responsible... Agreed

A genuine apology would be adequate. But can present day Liberals do 'genuine'?
Will Angus Taylor find the balls and ask Angie Bell MP to resign tomorrow after her evil outburst wanting Anne Aly and Albo to be stoned? Threatening political violence is abhorrent. #BringDownTheTemperature

Occupy Democrats 2͏h͏ · BREAKING: PANIC! Trump is DESPERATELY trying to stop Jack Smith from testifying in his own $10 billion lawsuit against the BBC. Donald Trump sued the BBC for defamation, asking for a whopping $10 billion in damages. Now, he’s panicking about the one witness who might actually know something about the behavior that led the British broadcaster to publish what it did. According to The New Republic, the BBC subpoenaed former special counsel Jack Smith to testify as part of its defense against Trump’s defamation suit. The suit claims the network defamed him with deceptive editing in a 2024 documentary about the January 6 Capitol attack. Trump’s lawyers filed a motion Friday to block the deposition, arguing that “Smith lacks any personal knowledge regarding the issues in this matter.” Their reasoning: Smith wasn’t at the January 6 speech, didn’t help prepare it, and can’t know what Trump was thinking. They say anything he gathered was “secondhand knowledge” from materials collected from other sources. The BBC’s lawyers weren’t impressed. They wrote that “none of [Trump]’s arguments for blocking the deposition of Mr. Smith can withstand scrutiny.” They noted that Smith himself doesn’t object to testifying, and that Trump still has to prove he “did not foment or incite the January 6 Capitol riot,” which he claims the documentary falsely implied. Then came the line that says it all: “No one forced Plaintiff to file this lawsuit and to dispute that his speech on January 6 incited the violence that followed at the Capitol. But as long as he chooses to maintain the case, he cannot commit the fundamental injustice of preventing the BBC from obtaining the evidence it needs to robustly defend itself.” This isn’t Trump’s only dodge. His attorneys are also fighting efforts to make Trump himself testify, to subpoena his children, and to look into his finances. Trump sued over what the BBC said about January 6, and now he’s fighting every attempt to examine what actually happened. There’s another problem for him. The BBC is funded by British taxpayers, so Trump can’t bully it into a hefty settlement or force it to back off its coverage the way he has with some American media companies. So now he has two choices: drop the case, or actually try to prove his point and live with the consequences. If Trump really believes he did nothing wrong on January 6, a deposition should be no problem. His lawyers’ desperation suggests otherwise. Please like and share if you can’t wait to hear what Jack Smith has to say if the BBC successfully gets him to testify!

Greta Thunberg: "The Green Party of England and Wales has acknowledged that Zionism is racism. This should be uncontroversial to anyone who has followed the livestreamed genocide in Palestine. Zionism is obviously racism-in its origins and in how it's practiced. Israel is an apartheid state where people have different rights based on ethnicity. The genocide would not have happened without Zionism, which is based on the radical idea that Palestinian lives are worthless."

Texas man dies in ICE detention center—was a legal permanent resident in U.S. ICE has admit in an official statement that he did have a green card. Despite this he was locked up for 4 months. Staff refused to give him his heart medication—and ignored his report of chest pain and trouble breathing the day before he died. ICE now claims that he obtained his green card fraudulently by failing to disclose a 2004 arrest for theft. His daughter says they are lying—that everything was properly disclosed and legally approved. Emiliano Andrade-Covarrubias lived in Dallas, Texas for more than 30 years. He was the father of 3 U.S. born children and worked as a construction contractor. Posting first full length, English translated, and credited video here to help raise awareness.

BREAKING: YEE-HAW! James Talarico BLASTS Elon Musk for dumping endless dirty money into his MAGA opponent’s war chest: “Texas is not for sale!” He should have known better than to mess with Texas… “They are spending $200 million against us,” said Talarico. “It's why those billionaire megadonors are so invested in electing Ken Paxton and stopping us. And I should say it's actually just one billionaire megadonor…” “Elon Musk is trying to buy this Senate seat in Texas,” he said bluntly. “We just found out that he is almost single-handedly bankrolling this effort to install Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate and defeat this movement we built in our state.” “In all likelihood, if you have seen an attack ad on your TV, that was Elon.” “If you've gotten lies in your mailbox, that was Elon.” “If you've received a text message saying scary things about me, that was Elon too.” “Our movement is funded by 1.3 million individuals who have given to our campaign,” Talarico said. “Ken Paxton is funded by one dude. Elon Musk wants our land. He wants our water.” On that point, there can be no argument. Musk has pumped a firehose of cash into the campaigns of MAGA crooks like Governor Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton. In return he has received billions in tax incentives and tens of millions in grants. One filthy hand washes the other. “He wants his very own personal United States Senator,” said Talarico. “He is trying to buy Texas. But on November 3rd, we are going to send a crystal clear message to the world's first trillionaire.” “Texas is not for sale!” Talarico concluded. This choice could not be any clearer. On one hand, you have a Democrat advocating for better healthcare, an end to pointless wars, higher wages, an expansion of housing construction, and banning Congressional stock trading. On the other hand, you have a Republican who was impeached by his own party for bribery, funded by anti-American billionaires, who will serve as nothing but a rubberstamp for Trump’s destructive agenda. Choose wisely, Texas. Your children will live with the consequences! Please ❤️ and share if you think that Talarico is crushing it!

Corporate forces are bankrolling One Nation's surge, and the payoff could be $219m in public funding if current support levels remain. The party sells itself as anti-establishment, but its backers are the establishment. Various powerful corporate sectors, including banking, hotels, mining and fossil fuels, all get a mention in the One Nation space. I don’t know Helen Haines personally, although I’ve had the chance to meet her briefly. What has always struck me is the extraordinary warmth with which people who do know her speak about her. How deeply respected she is, how hard she works, her integrity, and, above all, how much of herself she gives to others and to her community. My own tiny glimpse of that was watching Helen notice someone was cold and insist they take her coat. It was such a small thing, but perhaps that’s why it stayed with me. There is something particularly heartbreaking about seeing something so awful happen to someone who has spent so much of her life giving to others and devoted to public service. Which makes it deeply disappointing to see some trying to turn what has happened to Helen into ammunition for whatever political argument they wanted to make anyway. Surely this is a moment for something better than that. I can’t pretend to know what Helen would want from us right now. But everything I have seen and heard about her suggests kindness, generosity and compassion would be a pretty good place to start. This should be a moment that brings out the very best in all of us.

Parliament itself is roudy but controlled. The present speaker is well-respected.
Workplace harassment and bullying is against the law in Australia, but not in parliament. Pauline telling Lambie to get over it is unacceptable, abusive behaviour. Why isn’t @AlboMP making sure parliamentarians are being held to account for this type of harassment? I understand politicians are up for scrutiny, but this is personal. Female politicians have the right to bring up health issues to address inequities in the health system without a disgusting personal campaign by their colleagues.
