Baptists have long been advocates for religious liberty. This originated because of persecution of Anabaptist and Baptist forefathers in both Europe and America. Baptists actually gave religious liberty to the US.

At last count the US government identified 372 different faith groups within the nation. Each of those faith groups are able to cooperate as citizens towards national interests. It would be impossible to eliminate each of those groups.
