BPD’s VCAT Recaptures Suspect Wanted in Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department has arrested 23-year-old Tavares Tre Von Nelson of Birmingham, Alabama, on outstanding warrants of Capital Murder and Robbery 1st Degree.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in the 2100 Block of 29th Avenue
North.
Following Nelson’s release from federal custody, BPD’s VCAT discovered the listed warrants were still outstanding and located Nelson.

Hollis is currently in custody at the Jefferson County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
