Some actors become stars. Some become memories. Satyen Kappu was both. You may not have known his name, but you knew his face the father, the servant, the police officer, the doctor, the worried relative. The man who could appear for a few minutes and leave a lasting impression. Born in Panipat in 1931, Kappu began his journey in theatre. In his early stage days, he even played Sita and Radha—a glimpse of the versatility that would define his career. He entered films with Kabuliwala in 1961 and went on to appear in hundreds of films over a career spanning more than five decades. Then came Ramlal in Sholay. But there was another fascinating chapter many may not know. In Gehri Chaal (1973), Kappu provided the voice of the main villain, helping keep the character’s identity a mystery and preserve the suspense. From Sholay and Deewaar to Zanjeer, Don, Kaala Patthar, Namak Halaal, Coolie and Laawaris, his familiar face became part of our collective memories. He stood beside the biggest stars, yet never needed the spotlight. That was his magic. On 27 October 2007, Satyen Kappu left us at 76. But some faces never really leave. Satyen Kappu (1931–2007) A familiar face. A quiet legend. A lifetime of memories.

Amitabh Bacchan was our idol during youth. However he and his family bowed down to the political and underground mafias to survive. He is intelligent - otherwise they would have dealt him the same fate as Manmohan Desai, Rajesh Khanna & Sanjiv Kumar.

Two prominent judges publicly attacked aspects of SIR/EC functioning immediately before a crucial Supreme Court hearing. One was a sitting SC judge. What happened here? Who are they and why? Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, a sitting SC judge: On October 4, just before the October 5 Supreme Court proceedings involving SIR/CEC Gyanesh Kumar, Bhuyan spoke publicly at NALSAR. He said a process disenfranchising millions would be “intrinsically arbitrary”, could violate Articles 14 and 326, and would strike at the constitutional order. Bhuyan became Additional Advocate General of Assam on July 21, 2011, when Tarun Gogoi's Congress government was in power. He was elevated to the Gauhati High Court less than three months later, on October 17, 2011. Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman, a retired SC judge. Rohinton Nariman served as Solicitor General of India from July 27, 2011 to February 4, 2013, squarely during the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government. The Supreme Court's own biography confirms those dates. There is an additional episode worth noting: shortly before becoming SG, Kapil Sibal personally brought Nariman in as special counsel for the Union in a 2G-related case, bypassing then-Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium. That triggered a major confrontation and Subramanium's resignation. The Union Carbide/Bhopal connection. This connection is real, but it is Fali S. Nariman, Rohinton Nariman's father, who represented Union Carbide Corporation in the litigation arising from the 1984 Bhopal gas disaster. Fali Nariman was counsel for Union Carbide during the litigation and settlement process. The timing became controversial because the SIR issue was already sub judice. Former CJI B.R. Gavai has now explicitly called this a question of “judicial impropriety”, saying sitting or retired judges should not comment publicly on matters awaiting adjudication. Retired Justices S.N. Dhingra and R.S. Sodhi made essentially the same objection. Two prominent judges publicly attacked aspects of SIR/EC functioning immediately before a crucial Supreme Court hearing. One was a sitting SC judge. Both had held important legal offices under Congress governments. Congress immediately weaponised their observations politically. A COINCEDENCE??

Son of a fraud and bigamist who fled to the USA, Jeffrey Archer joined Oxford for a one year diploma and stayed around for three years, running the 100ms for both his university and Great Britain. Became a Conservative MP when 29, lost all his money five years later on a fraudulent investment scheme and started writing as a way to make money. And then wrote some of the best page turners ever, starting with Not A Penny, Not a Penny Less followed by Kane and Abel and First Among Equals. He also went to jail for perjury, once got caught trying to pay a prostitute, and was accused of financing a coup in Equatorial Guinea. And still went on to become the Baron Archer of Weston-super-Mare for his work with a Kurdish charity His own life could easily rival any of his most interesting works! RIP Jeffrey Archer, also a test cricket nut who once described himself as the Sachin Tendulkar of England!

BJP is struggling in the narrative war against the CJP, despite it being a minuscule challenge compared to what the party has faced in the past. The most significant challenge was the farmers' protest. It was led by a tightly-knit, influential community with substantial financial resources, a strong influence on popular culture, and international backing; nevertheless, the BJP was winning the narrative, (until it suddenly gave up). It was a similar story with the anti-CAA protests. The party was pitted against widespread mobilization with low threshold for violence as well as intense domestic and global media scrutiny, yet it still came out on top in shaping public opinion. So, what changed? Why are they losing ground against a far less threatening movement? The missing link is the loss of an organic groundswell of independent support. The primary backbone of the BJP's narrative strategy was the everyday citizen, individuals who were ideologically aligned, unaffiliated with any party apparatus, and driven by personal conviction. These ordinary supporters possessed a level of authentic credibility and societal influence that no organized digital cell or party spokesperson could ever replicate. They actively countered opposing views in daily social circles, local communities, and online spaces, acting as an unscripted, highly effective buffer for the party's image. However, years of unaddressed policy grievances, perceived arrogance, and repeated political oversights have gradually alienated many of this non-party baseline. As these independent voice-carriers drop away or choose silence, the party is left relying almost entirely on formal communications and coordinated IT cell campaigns, which were always insufficient for winning over public sentiment on their own.

Dr. @neha_laldas I don’t know Dr. Neha personally, but I genuinely respect the courage with which she has consistently raised her voice on issues affecting General Category students. The 91% reservation issue in four UP government medical colleges is a perfect example. She highlighted the matter, took it to the courts and continued fighting when most of us~including many from the medical fraternity~weren’t even aware that the reservation structure had reached such an extreme level. The Allahabad High Court has now stayed the implementation of the nearly 91% reservation arrangement. Regardless of what anyone’s views on reservation may be, standing up for what you believe is right and taking the legal route to challenge it deserves respect. Thank you, Dr. Neha, for speaking up when many chose to remain silent. And to those who attack, label or question her intentions~before passing judgment, perhaps look in the mirror and ask: what have you personally done for the issues of general category you claim to care about? Respect. Salute to your courage. 🇮🇳
