If Materials Engineering was a standalone department it would have been a different ball game.
Most Nigerian unis don’t even bother making Materials Engineering a standalone department, they just tuck it under Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering department.
Realistically, Civil is the only department carrying the physical weight of society. Strip away Civil and the rest of the faculty is out here designing things to sit in the mud. What department is actually surviving over Civil Engineering?
Engineers on the TL what are your takes?!
So my faculty planned on hosting a debate on “which department should remain if all departments in engineering was to be eliminated leaving just one”
But the debate never happened due to some reasons
If the debate had happened I’m very sure Civil Engineering would have won cos I believe Civil Engineering is the parent department of the entire faculty and we have strong arguments to secure our win.
Engineers and engineering students on the TL what’d you think?!
