Day 1 of the Addis Ababa Lightning Developer Bootcamp is in the books. 🇪🇹⚡
Today, our instructor, @Extheo, took participants through the foundations of Bitcoin, starting with the evolution of money, why Bitcoin exists, and the problems it was designed to solve.
We explored:
• The Bitcoin White Paper
• The double spend problem
• Blockchain fundamentals
• Mining
• Transactions and validation
• Bitcoin halving
In the afternoon, we got hands on by installing the latest version of Bitcoin Core binary release from GitHub and testing RPC commands to interact with a Bitcoin node.
Tomorrow, we'll continue with more practical sessions, diving into wallet operations and building on today's foundation.
