Two checks before you call something cheap or high-yield: compare price to what people actually paid in aggregate, and trace where every promised payout really comes from. Price alone is not enough. Follow the money.

A real yield comes from real activity: fees, revenue, productive use. If the payout grows faster than the business can grow, it will break. Model it out. Ask when obligations outrun the money actually coming in.

Now the yield question. Some investments promise high, growing payouts. Before trusting that, ask: where does the money come from? If the honest answer is mostly new buyers, that is not yield. That is a chain letter.

Long-term holders tend to sit and wait rather than sell at a loss. So prices below that aggregate cost level do not last long. It is not a guarantee, but it is a meaningful signal that value may be present.

Imagine adding up the price every holder paid when they last bought. That average is called realized cost. When market price drops below it, most holders are underwater. That is historically rare. Rare usually means cheap.
