Sorry to see XBT becoming shittier and shittier by the day. How can they possibly think of handicapping the miners by withholding their rewards for up to three epochs? It completely distorts the economics of miners and the value of the coin itself. SV1 is a problem that does not seem to have a real solution. But I seriously don't think Alphapool will attack a good source of revenue "just for fun" as CGuida says, but now they will just abandon it as they are obviously not welcomed anymore. So now XBT will be even more of a shitcoin as it will have even less proof of work backing it. It is clear the XBT people don't fundamentally understand the role of mining in a decentralized currency and instead squirm in fear of it. Very sad indeed.

XBT aka Blake2b Bitcoin will now survive only because miners will not shoot themselves on the foot. This pool realized that dominating the hash rate is causing the XBT price to dump so is artificially reducing it but I am afraid its already too late. Plebs are now aware the chain is doomed as it is clearly prone to centralization either by the miners stacked with Blake2b asics or by the knots developers that outright threaten to blacklist them with another fork.

The price of Blake2b Bitcoin going up makes sending spam transactions on the SHA256d chain a bit more costly as these txs lose their B2B value.

Agreed. There are many ways we can still fix Core's fumbling that caused all this mess. 1. Everyone run pre RDTS node. 2. Mine with your own templates filtering spam using Datum an Ocean 3. Rent hashing power if you don't care to run a noisy Asic miners specially if you are very invested in Bitcoin. 4. If you are a Bitcoin developer consider promoting a more patient BIP that doesn't rush to force the miners to accept a spam reducing soft fork. 5. Stop supporting grifters like Saylor and instead work on promoting circular Bitcoin economies. These actions highlight Bitcoin monetary uses. 6. Try to EARN bitcoin instead of just buying it.

We need for more Bitcoiners to run Knots (pre RDTS) and filter as much as possible before Bitcoin loses its monetary purpose.

Always remember Core started all this mess.

Calling All Devs and Bitcoin Node Runners: Help me build the first Bitcoin Monetary Node! monetarynode.org

It took just 3 months for the US debt to increase by $1 trillion. That means the debt is growing at $4T a year and the rate is accelerating. Meanwhile Bitcoin, the ONLY money that can save us when the dollar collapses, is being abused by spammers and grifters like Saylor. The majority of node runners are too lazy or just don't care to update to a good filtering node like Knots. And the whole financial world distracted by the AI boom. It is sad and very alarming to say the least.

Its the chain with the most accumulated proof of work. The one that has the spent the most energy.

Someone could come up with $200 million USD could try to help get BIP110 over the difficulty adjustment and keep it alive.

Bitcoin at 17y is a rebellious teen that is dabbling on collecting art instead of being just an honest but boring money accountant. The father who ignored him a few years ago did not check on him on time to put an end to this art appetite he acquired while his mother recklessly spoiled him. Now the father is very angry and wants to kick him out of the house while the mother doesn't mind his art hobby and keeps pampering him. But he is not listening to either now. Lets hope Bitcoin realizes what his true purpose is on his own. The world needs to guide him now that he is becoming free of his parents. Run a node and help Bitcoin decide what he wants to ultimately be.

I really hate to say this but if we are going to keep on fighting Core adoption, Knots has to be more forthright and remove the default BIP110 in its latest version. Otherwise it has the same attitude as Core and becomes a huge disservice to Bitcoin as money.

A proof of work algorithm change is not a solution. Bitcoin can never hard fork. It must remain immaculate, decentralized as much as possible and preserve its unparalleled accumulated POW. There are many solutions to fix the spam problem (that Core created) that we can still work on instead without hard forking. In the meantime you can use non RDTS version of Knots. It allows you to filter the spam in your mempool at least which makes it harder for it to reach the miners. Absolutely do not run any version of Core. The more Bitcoiners do this the healthier Bitcoin will be. We need to keep addressing the issue and continue to raise awareness. I am working on a detail article regarding all of this.

Very proud to have been part of the BIP-110 anti spam movement. We did what was best for Bitcoin and the awareness of this issue has been growing tremendously. It is not over.

BIP110 has an error and that is why it failed. The UASF phase was supposed to kick in AFTER a 55% activation threshold. During this signaling epoch nodes would reject non signaling blocks. BUT NOT MINERS. This error caused a premature chain split right away. We can try this BIP110 again once this implementation error is fixed. I am currently still mining on the abandoned BIP110 chain just to see if I can find a block in the next few hours or so to have it as trophy because I know it will be worthless. I will mine for a few hours only as it is obviously very costly. Bitcoin has not died or has been captured yet. The anti Core and anti spam movement has grown tremendously and it is still growing. We just need to try again with a corrected soft fork proposal that does the signaling phase right. I would like to thank @dathon_ohm for their tremendous work and I hope they can follow up with my suggested fix asap. I also suggest let the activation window float until the 55% threshold is achieved.
