Ugh, I let Claude do some things in my KiCAD libraries and when I updated symbols from libraries I got all this fantastic junk.

One thing that claude turned me on to that I likely never would've found with traditional search - @marimo_io as a tool for doing worst case circuit analysis. Pulls values from kicad analysis, automatically recalcs when I modify the python. Super cool.

I'm pretty happy with Opus 5 so far. This morning it resolved an unaligned hard fault that had been impossible for Sonnet 4 to figure out, and I was able to dump the supported PIDs for my Honda CRV!

Whenever I see something like this (I don't have a gate), I always am curious if it is a software issue (wrong delay reason, mis-labelled, etc) or a lazy @UPS delivery person making excuses to lighten their workload.

Finally made some progress on this with the assistance of Claude! This is a Microchip SAM V71 (Cortex M7) running Tock OS, complete with the tock-bootloader. Only UART and GPIO for now, but eager to start implementing more and trying apps outside of libtock-c

Does anyone know how to identify old signed baseballs? Grok is useless, defaulting to expensive well known signatures.

So the answer was to nudge Grok a lot - provide ball details to get the right era, and identify letters. For example, the signature on the left clearly ends in "ozema" which AI can fill in as Dave Rozema. If I also add that the other signature has two l's in the last name I get a probable identification of John Hiller

A while back I bought a tray of Xenarc 7" VGA monitors for about $1 at auction. Finally looking at them and they use this obnoxious "proprietary" VGA + AV to a 20 pin connector.

The major ICs look to be a pixel works PW1306 for image processing and a Xilinx XC9536XL CPLD. There are some other parts that I haven't looked into yet. The PW1306 looks like it takes the video input, so if I can find its pinout I can probably beep out the connector.

If you dig through the links you'll find that CERN uses KiCAD Dbl libraries.
I feel so vindicated in my choice to do the same.

I finished this monstrosity! I'm relatively proud of the difficult soldering, but the end result was XGPro whining about "bad pin on ZIF" for nets I thought should be NC. 😢
