Suzanne Clark writes well. I've not read the other book. Will look forward to hearing your thoughts. My big book for the Autumn will be Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon. Not read him before.
Thanks Jane. What a great shortlist. 6 very different books. I didnt get around to reading the longlisted books so haven't any sense of those that didn't make the final 6. I'd love to hear people's houghts on those as well 🙂
Good morning.

I'll be chatting about the ups and downs over the years and also selling boilers to the Duke of Devonshire.

The third in the Clapham books, 'Festival Days' came out in April. My pubs want a fourth and I'll write one, but I'm working on something else now. I need a rest from 40s/50s Clapham, people give me odd looks at the supermarket checkout when I use 1950s slang. Thanks for asking.
What a shame. I've an appointment in Tiverton at 11.40 so wouldn't get there in time. I'd have loved to have met you. Do you have any other events coming up? I'm sure some of our book loving community will be there. Have fun.
Just finished The Song of Achilles by Madeleine Miller - a wonderful retelling of the seige of Troy (and before), focusing on the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus and Patroclus and Briseis. So sensitively written. Read it in two sittings. What are you reading?
😂I've just finished reading The Boy From The Sea by Garrett Carr - really enjoyed it. Also listend to The Land by Maggie O'Farrell which I thought was exceptional.
Goodreads tells me that I've now read 900 books since I started recording them in 2010 (though some predates that period). My 900th book was The Mermaid Of The Black Conch. An enjoyable read. I'll have to look back and pick out some favourites. What are you reading this weekend?
Hi Tracey, I'm the author of Paris, Address Unknown (I use my maiden name in here and my married name on my book). Anyway, I just wanted to wish you happy reading! @BookDevon
